It’s a beautiful day for it drop locally, let it be today please Apple.
Hopefully we get 18.4 beta 1 in about an hour and a half!!!
We will stipulate that the beta may come at 1pm Eastern. No need to have a running countdown.
We have rain forecasted for next 2 days, today is the last day this week where it doesn’t snarl up commuting. So ideal to have it drop which it certainly can, and enjoy it’s new expanded featured set.
Any news on the X today about 18.4 b1? Rumblings out there we might see it today?
Random thought here: Apple's earnings call is late this afternoon (Eastern time). They might like the optics of having the beta released before that call so they can point to tangible progress on Apple Intelligence.
Either that, or Tim will say, "We continue to roll out Apple Intelligence, with our most ambitious efforts to date about to enter beta in the coming weeks". 🤯
We would have heard something by now if they'd want to launch the beta today....See you all next week guys!
??? Apple doesn’t usually pre-announce their betas. And often we get betas without people rumoring or “leaking” about them. I don’t gauge the probability of a beta release off of some random murmurings on social media. Even tech writers with connections are generally just guessing at this stuff…
Sometimes the big blogs (MR, 9to5, etc…) are aware but they are embargoed. Given the scope of this release, that may be the case here.
For example, Jason Snell, who typically records the Upgrade podcast on Relay on Mondays had to move the recording time back to last Friday as he was traveling this week. Traveling where? Hmmmm?
