Anything is possible, it could be that showing both same day is part of the SE marketing rollout to further increase insterest in both. They might have this well coordinated. One thing's for sure: The beta will not come on the day the new SE is announced.
Show their hand? They’ve already announced it’s coming. They’ve already shown their hand in that sense.Do you guys think they will ship the "context aware" new Siri with 18.4b1 right away? They took their sweet time with it and now, when everybody ships reasoning models and advanced AI agents, they need to deliver something at least as capable as these models. You really think they will "show their hand" during a regular beta cycle of a point release? I'm a little hesitant here and think they will push out the "new advanced LLM Siri" to iOS19 (maybe until 11/2025). The AI team at Apple is in shambles...
Perhaps the management reassignment recently of the lady that was previously involved with AVP efforts directly to Siri tweaked plans? As you said their larger efforts are much more noticeable and can effect AI marketing for the coming months thru iOS 19 developers preview?Do you guys think they will ship the "context aware" new Siri with 18.4b1 right away? If Apple has chosen to bring forward the launch, we don’t have to look far for reasons. One is the company’s need to increase usage of its AI platform, which makes it vital to get an Apple Intelligence-ready mass-market smartphone in stores.
I'm a ProMax user so don't care about SE4... Give me the Beta all dayWe'll either have the beta this week, or SE4 will be landing in the Apple Store before you know it. Pick your favorite—or why not both?
Same here, I would much prefer the beta (not a Pro Max user), but a product release wouldn’t be bad. I think likely we’ll get both this week.I'm a ProMax user so don't care about SE4... Give me the Beta all day
This year betas have shown up on Mondays fairly regularly. It used to be more like public was Monday and seeding was Tuesday.Do betas typically come on Mondays or Tuesday?
Same, totally agree with you. 👍🏻I think there’s a chance for 18.4 today. Unless 18.3.1 has some security flaw that needs to be patched, I see no reason to release 18.3.1 before the iPhone SE 4 is released.
Yeah, I’d say there’s definitely a chance for a beta today. I don’t know if it will come today or not, but I definitely think it’s coming this week. Monday releases have been pretty common so far in the iOS 18 beta cycle, so it very well could end up dropping today. 👍🏻This year betas have shown up on Mondays fairly regularly. The only thing that gives me pause is Mark Gurman is rarely wrong, and he thinks it’s coming later in the week. But he’s been wrong before.Same, totally agree with you. 👍🏻
Yeah, but his accuracy on these things seems to have declined quite dramatically the past few years, so I always take his predictions with a bit of a grain of salt. Part of it is just that Apple has upped their game on stopping leaks, and has caught a number of sources that leakers relied on, so it’s not all his fault necessarily. Apple has also fed those who don’t need to know exact timelines on things with false info to help narrow down sources of leaks. And Gurman seems to be guessing an awful lot as well. Most of his “leaks” read as non-committal so if he’s wrong (which he has been quite a bit on things like timing of events and such) he can save face. Overall, like I said before, I don’t think it’s all Gurman’s fault, he’s probably lost several sources he used to rely on. But I’ve definitely noticed a decline in his accuracy. The only thing that gives me pause is Mark Gurman is rarely wrong, and he thinks it’s coming later in the week. But he’s been wrong before.
It hasn’t been updated since 2022, but 86.5% accuracy rate-
