18.3.1 is downloading...

So quite likely we see new hardware tomorrow. Maybe the new SE plus the new Powerbeats Pro.
The PowerBeats Pro 2 Rumor I saw indicated someone got an advanced/pre order or something like that, and just assumed we'd see the PowerBeats Pro 2 tomorrow. After seeing this release, I'd say it's quite likely we see an updated iPhone SE, too.

Interesting no tvOS
Agreed that it’s interesting but there may be an explanation…
“Named SLAP and FLOP, the two security flaws could allow an attacker to use a malicious webpage to spy on the contents of other webpages, giving attackers remote access to browsing history, credit card data, emails, location information, and more. Physical access to a device is not required, and the attack can be executed through a malicious site that bypasses Apple's browser protections.”

You can’t exactly visit web pages on tvOS or a HomePod.

iOS is the only platform with security notes, all other platforms are showing with no CVE entries with the latest releases so hopefully that means there’s a good few bug fixes in there too.

Thats not this update completely different
security
Impact: A physical attack may disable USB Restricted Mode on a locked device. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals.

Description: An authorization issue was addressed with improved state management.

CVE-2025-24200: Bill Marczak of The Citizen Lab at The University of Toronto’s Munk School

At least we got something today, but it’s just another boring 18.3 update. I can’t wait until we get 18.4 beta 1, it’s been like 4 months since we got anything new, like a third of a year. iOS 18.3 has been so disappointing, we had so much momentum going in with new improvements and features coming to iOS and Apple Intelligence and then 18.3 stole all of that momentum and brought us to a grinding halt for several months now. Hopefully 18.4 Beta 1 comes soon, and we can actually start moving again.

Since developers will need time to implement the new features into their apps there might not be much Siri can do on 18.4 beta 1. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it's possible.

Well, one silver living by is by the time 18.4 is out, 19 won’t be too far away which is crazy. I still wonder how much better Siri will be in 18.4, if it’s not a LLM version of Siri. That’s rumored for 19 right?

Yeah. I can’t believe that the richest tech company needed another 12 months to get iOS 18 done. I mean there is march, April, May and then iOS 19 will show up. additionally the quality of iOS18 was very bad. Many bugs, no new features for the EU. I don’t know what’s going on at apple, buts it’s not satisfying.

iOS 19 better be a banger but I fear this years Procedere is now the new standard

Yuh there’s already talk of/anticipation for 19.4…lol

I understand that you’re frustrated, but I do think that iOS 18 actually has added quite a bit. I think it’s mainly that 18.3 hasn’t added any new surface-level features/changes, so it feels like we’re stuck in a bit of a lull. Hopefully with the first betas of iOS 18.4 coming soon, that will change and we’ll get back the momentum with a lot of new features and improvements. 👍🏻

As to the “no new features for the EU”, did they not include the new Photos app changes, Settings changes, Mail app changes, Notes Transcription feature, Math Notes, etc. in the EU? Obviously they haven’t added Apple Intelligence in the EU yet, but I don’t know that it’s fair to say they haven’t added anything new in the EU. 🙂👍🏻

I have a feeling the emphasis in 19 will be making siri and AI more robust.....Then the big milestone number 20 will have big interface changes, and new features, etc...

All I want and have wanted for years is true split screen multi tasking on the iphone... Please Apple, at least on the pro max models.

You’re probably right, though hopefully there will be some non-AI focused improvements as well like there are with iOS 18. 👍🏻

These "features" maybe new, but are they essentially better?

I think that’s mostly a subjective answer, and depends on a users preferences to a degree, but I believe they are better. I really like the new Photos app design, and find there are many more category options now for filtering photos. One of the biggest Settings changes I like the best is the new “Apps” category instead of having a super long sidebar to scroll through. It makes it a lot more organized in my opinion. Also all of the new default app settings are useful to some, and so are the new Privacy & Security settings. These will hopefully continue to improve in iOS 18 as well. And I also like the improved Mail app. The categorization feature is pretty useful. Again, your mileage may vary, but I think these are all nice improvements. 👍🏻

Don’t want to be a PP… but will give following chances for the 18.4b1 🤡
- today 5%
- Wednesday 30%
- Thursday 20%
- Monday 25%
- Tuesday 20%
So in short, my odds is for tomorrow!
