I think they wanted to keep their new product announcement separate from a new beta or new SE, so today is focusing on Powerbeats Pro only.
If any two were to happen on the same day it's more likely to be a new SE and beta since they're both AI related, but Apple might want to keep those separate too.

Personally, I think it’s very unlikely they’d push it back all the way until next week. That would just burn more valuable beta testing time, and would also be quite a ways out from the 18.3 drop, Apple usually drops the beta for the next version closer out than 3 weeks later as far as I’m aware.Hopefully because they don't want to drop the ball again, but maybe also, because it's not ready for prime time.

And how do you know that’s their plan? It’s a possibility, but none of us know when it will drop. I think this week is a lot more likely though.
At this point I will be happy to have it in February.
Betas typically come when Apple schedules them, generally up to a year in advance. None of this “fly by the seat of your pants gotta get another build in hurry” “schedule”.
I’d love to see someone do the numbers, but Thursdays have been popular. Mondays only with the iOS 18 betas. Prior seemed like Tuesday/Thursday.

Apple has a lot planned for this week according to this article. Could this mean that the beta won't come until the SE is unveiled "by next week"? Whenever that could be. 🤔
The announcement could be PSVR2 controller support for Vision Pro since there is a State of Play today. That support could come in the next beta release though so could still be good news.
A year in advance? really? that doesn't seem right.... but I don't work in tech so I don't really know.
Everything I’m reading this morning seems promising for a beta release today. Most sources I’ve read seem pretty sure today isn’t an iPhone SE announcement, but seem to believe it will be a software announcement today! 👍🏻. Apple is supposed to make a software-related Vision Pro announcement (maybe Apple Intelligence coming to Vision Pro and/or Sony VR controller support), and both of these would likely be included with 18.4.
I don’t know if they’re working on them as already pre-defined and pre-scheduled betas a year ahead of time necessarily, but almost undoubtedly they’re working on the features about a year in advance as far as I’ve heard.

I can't experience them (18), cause I'm still enjoying the bugs of iOS 17.7.2...Can’t smell bugs, you experience them.
They're probably still developing some features that will be a part of the 18.4 beta
