Oups forgot about that !Well the beta for iPhone 12 got pulled
But in that case I think it’s more likely that those devices get a special update

Public beta should cause a bit of fuss with slow macOS installation compared to easy iOS/iPadOs and tvOS. More default’s set on found like iCloud backup and notifications. Wish they wouldn’t do that. Nothing nicer than a email you exceeded the free allocation. So let them have it.Maybe nothing today, beta 2 next week or the week after next, with public beta 1.
A revised 18.4 today or tomorrow wouldn’t surprise me since it was pulled for some devices. With the removal of 18.3 as a downgrade option, I am speculating between now and next Monday we will get a 18.3.2.
I doubt they would push things back to iOS 19, since iOS 19 is still most of a year away from public release.Holding off on my 16 pro max, will probably jump on in beta 2 or 3. Only really care about the new Apple intelligence features. Was hoping to get consistent updates throughout the winter but it seems we won’t get any until spring. Kinda crazy that this winter we won’t get a single new AI feature except priority notifications. By the time the new siri is ready WWDC will be right around the corner, I wouldn’t be shocked if they decide to just push it back to iOS 19 when you take all that into consideration. Will be pretty convenient for them to delay when iOS 19 is so close will be easy for them to justify it to themselves. Hope this won’t be the case.
Time flies I know, iOS 19 is actually like 6 months and a few weeks! Not an entire year at all. First beta is hardly over 3 months away. We still have probably a month of testing 18.4. It’s not implausible, and as I said I hope won’t be the case. Just getting kinda skeptical.I doubt they would push things back to iOS 19, since iOS 19 is still most of a year away from public release.

My point is, iOS 19 is going to become available to the public near the end of the year, while we’re still near the beginning. And Apple will still be releasing iOS 18 updates until then. So I think it’s more plausible that they still release them in 18, even if a later 18 update like 18.5, which still should land before WWDC25.Time flies I know, iOS 19 is actually like 6 months and a few weeks! Not saying I disagree but nothing surprises me anymore, after they released 18.3 with (at least what seems like) literally nothing lol.My point is, iOS 19 is going to become available to the public near the end of the year, while we’re still near the beginning. Sure, I understand. 18.3 was rather disappointing. It wasn’t the first non-feature filled update though, usually we get some of those in an iOS cycle. I think x.3 updates are typically a bit lighter on new features if I’m remembering correctly, but I think 18.3 was odd because it wasn’t just sparse on new features, it literally didn’t include any. I think though that with 18.3, Apple was probably focusing on trying to refine AI models for the existing features to improve their output, and work on bug fixes and stability improvements. My theory is that they were also dedicating more development resources to some of the bigger Apple Intelligence and Siri features that haven’t arrived yet, so instead of dedicating more resources to try to include more features in 18.3, they basically just treated it as a bare-bones update so they could dedicate more resources to those things. Not saying I disagree but nothing surprises me anymore, after they released 18.3 with (at least what seems like) literally nothing lol.
You think we are on a 2 week cycle? The beta 1 seems quite stable on the iPhone, but a little bit messy on macOS, especially the Mail sorting features. Can’t say much about the new Siri voices.
I feel like the beta 1 should have been release on monday/tuesday last week, so I think we might see a more poished version of the beta 1 (call it beta 1.5) this week and then next week, a proper beta 2? This cycle is weird.Given public beta of beta 1 released today, unlike we see a beta 2 this week really.
Wouldn't it be too close?
anyway, this 18.4 ain't exciting at all, just need apple to release something to feed my adrenaline urge.I feel like the beta 1 should have been release on monday/tuesday last week, so I think we might see a more poished version of the beta 1 (call it beta 1.5) this week and then next week, a proper beta 2? I've read it, and personally I like Gemini more than ChatGPT.![]()

Yeah that would definitely suck, the clock is certainly ticking. I’m not sure exactly what the new Siri will be if it’s not an LLM. Closer to google assistant I guess?Sure, I understand. 18.3 was rather disappointing. It wasn’t the first non-feature filled update though, usually we get some of those in an iOS cycle. It will be interesting to see what happens though. Some think some of the Siri enhancements may come in a later beta of 18.4, while others think it’s been delayed to 18.5. Personally, I don’t think all of the Siri enhancements need to come at the same time, so maybe some of them will come in a later 18.4 beta, and then others could come in 18.5? I did notice that Apple’s website said new Apple Intelligence features (plural) would be coming in April, and so far 18.4 has added one Apple Intelligence feature: Priority Notifications. Unless they’re counting the reintroduction of notification summaries. So maybe some more things will come to 18.4 in future betas yet that just weren’t ready for the first 18.4 beta. It wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened.
But it will be interesting to see what happens. I would sincerely hope that they wouldn’t push 18 features back to 19 though, because that would suck, and would probably be a press nightmare… I’d say they’d even be better off releasing these features in 18.7 or something like that than doing that. 🙁
That page about Apple Intelligence was written months ago, before they supposedly had complications and needed to push things out. Apple doesn't always keep those pages up-to-date. (They finally removed the verbiage about CarPlay arriving in 2024 not too long ago.)I’m wondering if we’ll see more Apple Intelligence features in later 18.4 betas. I notice that Apple’s website says new Apple Intelligence features (plural) will be arriving in early April, while currently there is only one new Apple Intelligence feature: Priority Notifications. It could be nothing, but it wouldn’t be the first time we see additional features drop in later betas that weren’t completely ready yet for the initial beta. 👍🏻
Apple Intelligence will continue to expand with new features in the coming months, including more capabilities for Siri.
