After we reached beta 5 next week or 18.1 beta 2 for AI capable devices, its weekly for awhile until beta 8 that is an another 2 weeks to RC. (Going by iOS 16 and iOS 17)Weekly seems likely but who knows
Not for iOS 18.1 thou. Most likely 2 week beta cycle. After we reached beta 5 next week or 18.1 beta 2 for AI capable devices, its weekly for awhile until beta 8 that is an another 2 weeks to RC. (Going by iOS 16 and iOS 17)
There's the question, since 18.1 is only for including earliest implementation of Apple AI features for developers which will be incomplete, why are we doubting that they won't be synced less the AI?. It's expected that 18.2, 18.3, 18.4 will continue with adding to and readying Apple Intelligence. Not for iOS 18.1 thou. Most likely 2 week beta cycle.
When are we expecting beta 5?
I can't see 18.1 being 2 weeks considering it's basically beta 4 with AI and call recording. Not for iOS 18.1 thou. Most likely 2 week beta cycle.
I’ve had the same thoughts. We may learn more today from the Apple earnings report out. Typically they wouldn’t discuss future products but this may be the exception.I can't see 18.1 being 2 weeks considering it's basically beta 4 with AI and call recording.
I wonder if 18.1 will even be an October release and may actually release in September for the AI capable devices with 18 for the non AI capable.
Or 18.1 will be released for the new iPhones and the 15 Pro (Max) and everyone else will get iOS 18.I can't see 18.1 being 2 weeks considering it's basically beta 4 with AI and call recording.

Given that 18.1 is for devs only currently, I think new iPhones would be running 18.0 initially for their launch. Then soon after PB testers should be able to get their hands on Apple Intelligence on future beta cycle, unless 18.1 extends into October allowing PB testers.Or 18.1 will be released for the new iPhones and the 15 Pro (Max) and everyone else will get iOS 18.
Or 18.1 will be released for the new iPhones and the 15 Pro (Max) and everyone else will get iOS 18.
That means Apple Intelligence won’t roll out in September when the iPhone arrives; it will probably begin launching publicly in October. And even then, customers will only see a small piece of the vision that Apple presented when it unveiled the capabilities in June at its Worldwide Developers Conference
These days, Apple typically releases the iPhone in September. But it faces a similar conundrum. Apple Intelligence — a core feature of the iPhone 16 — won’t be ready until October. This time, though, Apple is taking a different tack and won’t hold back the new hardware until the services are ready. I’m told that the iPhone launch will occur around the same time as last year — a quick look at the calendar makes Sept. 10 a probable date — and users will need to upgrade their new hardware to iOS 18.1 in October to get rolling with Apple Intelligence.
Seems like if they want to have any chance of it launching in Oct they want to crank out as many betas as possible between now and then. 4 betas for 18.1 at 2 weeks puts them into Oct which doesn't seem like a ton of testing with only 4 betas. Not for iOS 18.1 thou. Most likely 2 week beta cycle.
Imagine the cluster that would be if they launch IOS 18 for most devices while some get 18.1. People would be confused and upset they don't have the same version (this isn't a .X.X release where it would make sense only some phones capable of running it are running it.I can't see 18.1 being 2 weeks considering it's basically beta 4 with AI and call recording.

That is Apple's conundrum. Using the whole 18.1 as a means of separating AI is not what they ultimately want. AI features should be limited within the OS by determined hardware. It's not like iPhones or IPads beyond 18.0 not possessing the hardware requirements really should have a separate build just for them while AI is being developed as new features are added/changed. If they can make a OS run on multiple platforms surely AI can run on only devices that are supported under the same OS versions.Imagine the cluster that would be if they launch IOS 18 for most devices while some get 18.1. I’m going with a 40% chance of 18.1 b2 today (Monday) or tomorrow.
The reasonable thing would be to look at the AI requirements, if you meet them for IOS 18.1, if you don't meet them you stay at 18.0 and wait for implementations to arrive.Imagine the cluster that would be if they launch IOS 18 for most devices while some get 18.1. No. The reasonable thing would be get everyone on 18.1 and those with hardware apple deemed not worthy of AI won't have the switch to turn AI on.The reasonable thing would be to look at the AI requirements, if you meet them for IOS 18.1, if you don't meet them you stay at 18.0 and wait for implementations to arrive.
It has its sense and reason, so I agree with you, friend!!No. The reasonable thing would be get everyone on 18.1 and those with hardware apple deemed not worth of AI won't have the switch to turn AI on.
THIS 👆 There is almost no difference between the builds aside from activated AI features. My bet is on today and then weekly betas.I believe that the iOS 18.0 and 18.1 betas will go out at the same time
