No. You’ll have to downgrade. You’ll need the ipsw file of 18.0 to do that.can i "upgrade" from ios 18.1 developer beta to ios 18 public beta 3?

Nada for 18.1 today. Let’s hope tomorrow, realistically next week.not calling it until 15min past the hour
Pretty sure it’s DFU and downgradecan i "upgrade" from ios 18.1 developer beta to ios 18 public beta 3?
They're only one beta in on a release that's not expected until around October, and it's running in parallel with the 18.0 major release branch, which is almost certainly their top priority right now — 18.1 is probably going to be on a 2-week beta cycle until around b3 or b4.Wonder if it's a critical bug or something making them hesitant to just send the 18.1 beta.
Major x.1 betas usually have a 2 week update schedule initially.Wonder if it's a critical bug or something making them hesitant to just send the 18.1 beta.
Major X.1 betas aren’t usually almost exactly the same as the previous version, I wouldn’t call 18.1 a typical update.Major x.1 betas usually have a 2 week update schedule initially.
18.1 definitely seems to be having a fair amount of issues. Makes 0 sense to wait 2 weeks when they could match it with 18.0 betas.A 2 week cycle makes no sense and 18 now has more features and bug fixes compared to 18.1. Literally the only difference with 18.1 so far is AI.
That seems awfully light on the betas if they are shooting for a Oct launch. That gives them 4 betas before release to the public. Seems apple is asking for issues going that route.Apple can, if it wants, keep iOS 18.1 betas on a two-week release cycle until the beta cycle for that version starts for all devices after iOS 18.0 is officially released. Although I hope it doesn't do that.

Maybe, don’t remember which beta came in that late, but it was definitely one of iOS 18 betas in the last weeks !1pm drop today??
18.1 is the first X.1 beta to have a 2 week schedule since 12.1Major x.1 betas usually have a 2 week update schedule initially.
you keep making this assertion, but unless you have compared the code minutely, you don’t know that to be the case.A 2 week cycle makes no sense and 18 now has more features and bug fixes compared to 18.1. Literally the only difference with 18.1 so far is AI.
Not yet it’s not. It has only been 8 days.18.1 is the first X.1 beta to have a 2 week schedule since 12.1
18.1 beta is purely for AI related testing, until 18.0 comes out.A 2 week cycle makes no sense and 18 now has more features and bug fixes compared to 18.1. Literally the only difference with 18.1 so far is AI.
I agree with this. Put simply: we are in completely uncharted waters here wrt to this software package. It is unique in iOS / MacOS history. So we really have no way to assess when it might be updated. There are good arguments in favor of a sooner release, there are good arguments for a release early next week. And, as @Ansath points out, there are even decent arguments for a new beta release multiple weeks from now.18.1 beta is purely for AI related testing, until 18.0 comes out.
18.0 beta is for all the actual 18.0 features.
It’s 2 strands with different purposes, so it actually makes total sense why 18.1 isn’t in tandem with 18.0.
We don’t know what Apple’s intentions are with the schedule for 18.1 - they might not release a new beta for a couple weeks, and that brings some of the other Apple Intelligence features to test. It doesn’t need to be weekly.
So 18.1 literally having the same bugs as 18 beta 4 e.g the frequent emoji bug isn’t reasoning enough to suggest it was just beta 4 with AI enabled? Also no newer modem firmware or carrier bundle.you keep making this assertion, but unless you have compared the code minutely, you don’t know that to be the case.
