Could be the cellular/modem that some have experienced in 18b4 and that carried over to 18.1b1.See yall next week. It’s not coming this week.
Still, I’m baffled they’d remove the IPSW and make the first beta unsigned.
Winner.17.6.1 today. Don't get your hopes up for anything more than that.
Nah, next week at the earliest.
I stand corrected. Good speculation!17.6.1 today. Don't get your hopes up for anything more than that.
Not getting my hopes up, but that’d be great.18.1 B2 at 4pm est? Certainly seems possible the way things are going this year.
If not, maybe Friday18.1 B2 at 4pm est? Certainly seems possible the way things are going this year.
Perhaps the first 18.1 dev beta had too much issues that needed to be addressed as far as AI features? Then there is also the weirdness of using a separate version for vetting qualified hardware? As said before the OS should be able to block AI features being activated if your hardware is not qualified, not prevent the whole OS from being installed on other devices that AI is not supported. Can't do that forever well into the iOS/iPadOS 18.x releases.18.1 B2 at 4pm est? Certainly seems possible the way things are going this year.
It may be that they don’t want any more people hitting their AI servers. It may be a numbers game.See yall next week. It’s not coming this week.

That Siri stuff is not supposed to arrive until early next year, in a later iOS 18 release (likely 18.4). So I doubt that is the issue.I can imagine that it's not as easy as dragging and dropping the AI stuff into 18.0. It would not surprise me that something might have been fundamentally broken, like the screen capture tools being borked by the on-screen awareness feature that's supposed to come to Siri.

Yes this whole effort at this point looks bad for a company used to OS's supporting multiple devices or ever multiple processor platforms with the same OS seeds. Oh well.I kinda wanted to go back to the more advanced builds on the non-AI beta side. But after seeing some of the beta 5 thread, I think I'll just wait for the iOS 18.1 beta to catch up
I wonder why they didn't just start with joining their internal branches before releasing developer builds? Makes me wonder if in September they'll be iOS 18 for everyone, and iOS 18.1 on day one for the devices that can handle Apple's standards for the AI integrations.. that kind of thing has precedence from Apple, so it's quite possible
Will probably see 18.1 DB 2 on Monday, hopefully alongside 18.0 DB 6. Doubt they'll go to weekly releases at this point but we'll see.
I hope so. I noticed a pretty big security bug that I submitted feedback for. Basically, you can bypass Face ID authentication for autofilling passwords. Hopefully they get it resolved soon. For iOS 18.0 they will most likely go with weekly releases now, if they want to wrap it on time for September release.
I agree. And I don't think 18.1 will switch to weekly releases until September. For iOS 18.0 they will most likely go with weekly releases now, if they want to wrap it on time for September release.
I would like us to have beta 2 of IOS 18.1 today, all the betas of previous versions have been released and only this one remains, let's wait for it to arrive today! At least I hope so.Will probably see 18.1 DB 2 on Monday, hopefully alongside 18.0 DB 6. Doubt they'll go to weekly releases at this point but we'll see.
Oh yeah! 18.1 beta 2 today! It’s 2024, anything is possible!I would like us to have beta 2 of IOS 18.1 today, all the betas of previous versions have been released and only this one remains, let's wait for it to arrive today! At least I hope so.![]()
