macOS Sequoia, the newest version of the operating system that runs on the Mac, is set to launch in mid-September, MacRumors has learned. While Apple's iOS updates are consistently introduced in September, macOS launch dates vary, and new Mac updates have been released in September, October, and November in recent years.
This year, Apple plans to release ‌macOS Sequoia‌ around the same time as iOS 18 rather than holding it until October. Introducing both updates at the same time will ensure that cross-platform features are functional and working as intended, such as iPhone Mirroring. A key new feature, ‌iPhone‌ Mirroring allows an ‌iPhone‌ running ‌iOS 18‌ to be controlled using a Mac running ‌macOS Sequoia‌.
So if next week you have iOS/IPadOS 18 beta 8 on 8/26, RC could be on Sept 9th, public could be Sept 16. That works easily around Labor Day. (9/2)

18.1 (AI features) might continue for the next few weeks as a bi-weekly seeding. Beta 3 (8/26), Beta 4 (9/9) Beta 5 (9/23), we'll see.

The RC will be whatever day the iPhone event will be. Always. So far the best guesses for that is for September 10th. Assuming that occurs, that’s when we’ll see the RC.

Replace 2022 with 2023 and you’re spot on.

The last report goes as far as saying Federeghi trying ChatGPT as late as early this year changed course for iOS 18 to be an AI focused release. Heck they got grilled last year during investor calls ("we got AI, look it’s detecting pets in your photos!"), they only took people seriously during the investor call early this year.

I love Apple and their products, but I also think one has to call them out for being very ignorant about trends and usually late to the party (LLM, RCS etc).
Nope, Ajax was built in 2022. There’s reports from July 2023 that state Ajax was built a year earlier.

I’m not saying they’re not late to the party, by the way.

I know it’s Friday but..
