So I just noticed you can set a background with an Android user. You have to send them a picture then hold down the picture and select set as background. It’s much easier to set one if you’re doing iMessage to iMessage with someone.

I may give this beta a spin. I am making a backup on my Mac first though, just in case I have regrets. 👍

I have it on my 16 pro max and 12.9” m4 IPad Pro and so far not bad. I had a weird bug on my iPad where I had to turn iMessage off and back on to get messages and IMessages to send. I think the thing that annoys me the most is the animation stutters in safari tabs. I already turned on reduce transparency. Any other tips to make this smoother or this just how it is?

Just installed on my 16PM and it’s really nice. I don’t get all the negative fuss regarding liquid glass. Looks great IMO especially considering this is beta 1.

So far every app I’ve tried is working fine and haven’t seen anything unusual. I imagine tomorrow it should be running smoother than now which really isn’t that bad at all.
Are you new here? Everybody complains about everything!

I’m with you. I like it and it’s working better than I’d expect for a Beta. I still haven’t found a dysfunctional app.

It's nice, but sometimes things can be harder to read IMO. It's also harder to recognize some icons at a short glance, since there is no more colour.

Also, the macOS-like design elements feel a bit weird at times, not quite completely integrated yet. I'll have to reassess after a few weeks (and a few more betas).

Yup!
I think it generate more contrast in clear dark mode than the light

14 plus here, and yeah like a few others I guess, I actually like it lol. It’s definitely buggy, but it’s not close to the buggiest beta I’ve tried. It’s actually mostly smooth. Battery life already is better than iOS 18 for me after a workday with typical usage idk…I’ve been installed for maybe 20 hours.

The glass ui or whatever is kinda cool to me, but I agree they need to tweak the amount of transparency though, but it looks way better on device than what screenshots show. Not even close to being an unintelligible mess as some have said.

I want to put this on my daily driver iPhone.

But the side of me that can reason is telling me to wait to like beta 6 like normal.

The other side of me is yelling YOLO.

What do
Well i think you came up with the ideal solution, getting the opinion of a bunch of random people on the internet. Hope you actually have a family and or friends to get advice from on things going forward vs asking total strangers to help you decide on things. lol.

Ditto 15PM & 16P.

Well boys it is Joever. I am back on 18.5. The phone got way too hot, animations were super stuttery, and a bunch of my automations and Shortcuts weren't working. I'll see you guys for the RC!

Yeah, day 2 and my phones been running super hot today with high battery drain. I feel like currently still part of the early processing and indexing of a beta major software update. Hoping it subsides within the next day or two. Everything’s pretty laggy

The widgets are under the clock if you use any wallpaper other than the new ios26 wallpaper. The new wallpaper puts the widgets at the bottom of the screen.

Turning off depth effect off let me slide the widgets back to the top even on the stock wallpaper

Is anyone experiencing an issue when opening tabs in background in safari?

Everytime I open a tab in the the background it just freezes and I have to force quit and reopen Safari…

Have rebooted a few times and running on my 15 Pro Max.
When I'm searching for tabs in Safari that usually freezes the entire app and I have to restart it.

Other wallpapers do that as well.. This one has the spacial setting as well.

Seems to be a bizarre luck of the draw when it comes to stability. I had to rollback to a backup because I got non-stop stutters and other odd behaviour. I'll give b2 a shot with my trusty backup ready.

Has anyone noticed the automatic iCloud backups not working dispite being on WiFi and plugged in overnight. It’s not worked for me since the backup - feedback sent

Now having issues where maps crashes when trying to set to a new destination in CarPlay. Think my workaround will be start navigation before plugging into CarPlay. I did notice that I now have more report options on maps on CarPlay and it now shows railroad crossings too. Oddly when taking a screenshot while using CarPlay, it no longer screenshots the CarPlay too. Curious if that’s on purpose or not

So, my feedback after two days:
It runs pretty smooth (not all the time) after initial stutters, but that was to expect.
I don't like the glass design too much, but don't mind it either. I'm always for new stuff so I wil get used to it. It looked way better in the keynote that on my phone, but I'm sure it will be better or more customizable in the future.

It gets very hot at times and the battery drain is insane, but still this is beta 1, so that will both be better in the future.

The lockscreen problem (widgets at the bottom, font changes are not saved) will also be fixed in the future, but that's just lazy to put out a beta with basic errors.

That there are different keyboard (in Safari I have another keyboard layout than in other apps) is just annoying.

This first beta in the last couple of years were significantly better than this one, but before they were also way worse.

So I'm semi happy and hoping for fast updates.

How did you get the time (clock) that big?
In that particular photo it cost me a bit, but I got the black BMW behind me, trying to make it bigger, finally it was "behind" completely.

When you customize the lockscreen, with the standard watch (it only works with the default watch, not the rest), you get a lower tab on the right where you can put it to a larger size, to your liking. It also adapts by default.

Try turning Reduce Motion on and reduce transparency temporarily it worked for me
