It would be great if you could "tint" the "glass". By making it a bit (customisable?) milky (white/grey/whatever colour you choose) you could get back contrast.

I didn’t follow and I’m wondering how we got from iOS 18 to 26? Will they announce iOS 35 next year?
Anyone having CarPlay issues with sound? Both cars for me, not playing sound through speakers when I try to play something. Sound will come from the phone and the radio in the car will continue to play through the speakers.

It’s released in autumn 2025, so essentially 26 (for 2026), as it’s the current release for most of the next year.
So now it’s after the year it’s been released in.
I haven’t seen many side by side comparisons between Liquid Glass on beta 1 and Liquid Glass on beta 2… is it true that it’s less transparent and more legible now?

Yes, it is better, especially visible in the Control Center and the new Safari compact address bar at the bottom. The Control Center elements also look a bit more embossed to me, like a bit more 3D.
For your iPhones “not ringing” check “Attention-Aware Features” under Settings > Face ID:
Even just surfing MacRumors, my iPhone 12 Pro Max is getting noticeably hot, particularly in the top left region.
If I’m reading the teardown correctly, that’s where the SoC, RAM, and NAND storage are all located, so I guess that makes sense.
BTW, CarPlay also heats up the phone substantially, and it’s even worse if I’m wirelessly charging the phone at the same time.

They screwed me over with the beta 2. In beta 1 with the smart display zoom function in CarPlay I had two widget stacks on my screen which looked perfect. Now I have one giant widget in the middle with tons of wasted space and it looks utterly stupid and will never use widgets. Thanks Apple for ruining the only thing I was excited for in iOS 26…

Anyone having problems with only black boxes instead of photos for Favorites in the unified view of the Calls section? I’ve done a couple of restarts and still the same.

i've been doing this for some years now, but I have never had a beta that messed up any iCloud synced data. My iPad and my iPhone SE both substituted my normal contacts "My card" and replaced it with my wife's contact. No amount of correcting it would persuade it to stay corrected, just duplicated my actual contact. It was ok til I updated the iPad then the two devices worked as a tag team.

Having two „X“ button right next to each other in Safari is a little dumb to be honest. I always click the wrong one trying to remove what is written in the address bar at that moment 😅
seems snappier as mentioned earlier post also battery drain is less than B1 overnight, see how the day goes 
If you are having issues with silent calls or calls going to voice or what ever turn off that stupid unified look in the phone app and revert to classic and it will work again . I had this issues my self for weeks and finally figured it out
Similar experience here, my 15 PM gets warm even when reading mails, news, and genuinely hot while charging.
