What happens if you install some rando app? Does it still just show 2?
Totally depends. Sometimes installing a random app has zero effect at all and it still shows two apps… sometimes it fixes things and looks like it should (3 large icons and 4 tiny ones)

The iOS 26 dynamic wallpaper.
So do I, however I just changed the wallpaper to see if it would change those icon colors and it does not. Pretty sure it’s supposed to mirror the phone’s color, and the icon to the right of it is the case color.

Given the fact if you don’t have an Apple case on and hit the button to match the case color, it can make all your icons vanish (I couldn’t replicate this but 2 other people posted about it in this thread) I’d be willing to bet this section is very bugged which is why it’s not reflecting your phone color. Hopefully they fix this on a launch day update or something.

Dumb Q: Does anyone know what the leftmost two options are when choosing tinted icons? I’d not seen them before this RC (but maybe they’re just on the stock wallpapers), and one is unclickable and the other doesn’t do anything…

already answered in thread sorry :)

Installed. No graphic fixes. Everything is exactly as the OTA was. Granted this was not a fresh install but I am calling BS to a fresh install fixing these bugs.
Figured as much. iOS changed something a few versions back where the OS is read only so any system update that gets installed is effectively a “clean install” and then your user data runs on top of that… it’s the same way macOS does it now as well. So a “clean install” in the sense of doing an erase/reinstall is pretty much the same as doing any system update or IPSW update since the only partition being modified is the system,

An interesting fact, in the case of the erase method, the system doesn’t actually “erase” any user data, it just throws away the encryption keys so that no data can be read (good luck decrypting that), since the user data partition is the only one stored encrypted (the system isn’t, unless they changed that for some reason).

Anyways, even if you did a complete nuke and reinstall, it would still be the same system image you have now, that we all have, that all has the same bugs and glitches that we are all seeing.

I'm guessing one just tints the icons to the color of your iPhone and the other to the color of the Apple MagSafe case.

Ah! I think the far most left matches your case colour. My caseless phone doesn’t allow me to click on it
Far left is your phones color and the one next to it is the apple case color if you are using one. If not then it just makes them clear.

Apparently it is pretty bugged, some people have reported icons disappearing when hitting the case color button and the only recourse is a reboot.

Oh, the WiFi toggle is not fixed either. Just checked.

Tbf a few iOS version ago (I think 15) I had been running beta's on my daily and it had a spotlight indexing problem that lasted ages caused by some beta quirk that didnt affect others. A clean would have solved it but I think it didnt get fixed till X.1.2 so a while.

And that may be true for this case too. But for some graphical issues, its just not worth the hassle. I'm already going to be setting up a new device next Friday. Don't want to do it now as well.

Not a big issue, but the problem I reported to Apple early in the beta cycle still is not resolved. When I go into Photos and select Collections, then select Reorder I cannot reorder the list. This issue is happening on my 12 Pro. Of all the betas I have tested over the years this one has been the worst. There are still so many small problems that have slipped through into the Release Candidate. Apple is not paying attention to detail.
