Tbf a few iOS version ago (I think 15) I had been running beta's on my daily and it had a spotlight indexing problem that lasted ages caused by some beta quirk that didnt affect others. A clean would have solved it but I think it didnt get fixed till X.1.2 so a while.
Sure, but the spotlight index data would operate in user space, not at the system level, and its performance could also depend on what 3rd party apps you have installed. It may have had a glitch trying to read some app properly. Especially if it was on a beta OS. Perhaps some apps weren’t compatible fully with iOS 15 yet. But the core system would have been the exact same whether you wiped it or not. The only thing that can effectively change system files now is updates.

To add, in this case, these are system animations and system level settings (go to settings —> Privacy —> location and check the Wallet app icon)?that are having issues. I don’t believe that a clean install would change or fix any of that.

PS they changed something in the RC keyboard because it is suggesting all kinds of wacky words and predictions are all over the place

And that may be true for this case too. But for some graphical issues, its just not worth the hassle. I'm already going to be setting up a new device next Friday. Don't want to do it now as well.
I’m curious if the new phones exhibit the same issues out of the box, assuming there isn’t some day 1 update (there usually is) or another RC between now and then

That guys has not provided any proof of anything being fixed with a clean install so take it with a grain of salt.

We just had someone do an IPSW install and it didn’t fix any of the known issues.
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t work for anyone else. I don’t have the app icon refresh issue others have. I don’t have several things that others have.

It will be interesting to see if you have the issues on the new phone via cloud/wifi restore.

Do you have the issue where the Wallet icon in Settings —> Privacy —> Location does not show properly? Because that’s what we were originally talking about.

That and the WiFi toggle in settings not showing an animation.

I don’t have the app icon refresh either unless I start switching around between filled and glass icons.

Oh I see now, when you tap it, still not glass. Only when you tap and hold it. Yeah, wtf are they doing at Apple???
Right? What’s really weird is the Bluetooth button right below the WiFi works as it should. Complete lack of attention to detail.

SIAP

When you long press on the Home Screen and then choose the customize option, there's a new ‌iPhone‌ case icon at the bottom of the "Tinted" menu. Tapping it will automatically change the color of ‌Home Screen‌ icons to the color of the case that you're using.

New bug with weird color bands to the right of Spotlight UI. Never been there on earlier betas.

(Already filed a feedback)

So another bug…

In Settings under Privacy & Security -> Location Services

I have 3 Wallets listed for some reason and 1 Wallet is missing the icon. Why is there 3?

Also, there is a WebSheet with no icon too whatever that is.

Trying to install 26.2 RC ipsw now on top of 18.6.2, let's see what happens
It's so incredibly sluggish on an iPhone 13 mini that I'm going to call it «Liquid Obsolescence» from now on.

New design language is nice, but the performance is insanely, frustratingly bad.

So much for all the «but 4 GB of RAM is more than enough for most users» talk back in the day.

Same on iPhone 13. It shouldnt have been allowed to receive this update. It’s not capable. Might have to revert
