Ok, I get that for very specific and detailed info, but how would, for example, even just saying something as simple as “the app icons will be squircle shaped, or “the app icons will be round” get anyone fired? Presumably, a decent number of people in Apple have seen the icons, I don’t think this would out his sources at all. It clearly doesn’t seem to have outed Prossers’ sources. At some point, it just comes across like Gurman is being intentionally vague so that nobody can say he’s wrong.
And I get it, of course he’s going to get some things wrong. I have no problem with that at all. The problem is that whenever he does get things wrong, it’s like he never just admits he got it wrong, he just throws out excuses to explain it away, and he really was right. He’s being so incredibly vague on some things anymore, and couching it in so much speculation terminology that it comes across much of the time that he’s merely speculating.
