This is likely fake as the clock app icon doesn’t match the time - though that's Apple's default time, so maybe the icon isn't finished yet? Someone else mentioned it's fake because there's no letter at the end of the build number. But still an interesting looking mock up.
I wouldn’t be shocked though if iOS 19, 25, 26, or whatever it’s going to be called, lol 😂 ends up looking similar to that. And while it very well could be fake (and probably is as you said), one interesting detail of that is the wallpaper. It looks like a minimalist gradient art of the sun reflecting off water. That would fit perfectly with another report that macOS will be named Tahoe. Tahoe is known for its crystal clear and shiny water, which is exactly what the wallpaper there seems to be depicting. 👍🏻. I’m wondering, if they are all going to share a version number, will they also all share a name as well? Perhaps this is also how the macOS name was leaked, as usually they’re unsure about what it will be named until the keynote, but if all of the platforms will share the name, then perhaps more sources saw it and leaked it… I would certainly like them to all share a name and wallpaper theme, I think that would add to the “unified” branding and aesthetic. 👍🏻 I’m so excited for WWDC25!

Also, interesting detail, I just cropped in on the wallpaper, and did an image search on Google for that wallpaper to see if it may be a stock wallpaper or something. It didn’t come up with any other matching results besides the photos there with the alleged iOS. So that’s interesting, though not definitive, because whoever created the icons could have also created the wallpaper as well if it is a fake. 👍🏻

Good observations especially with that wallpaper. I was so focused on the icons and the update screen, I completely ignored the wallpaper. Part of me feels like this can be real (edit: I'm also known to be very gullible sometimes), just because of how imperfect it looks. Other mockups we've seen focused on every making every detail perfect. It's like we're looking at an earlier version of what's going to be showed off next week if that makes any sense.

Some other things I noticed-
The version notes seem like someone wrote it up quickly, possibly just being used as internal placeholder text. It focuses on unannounced, but already rumored features.

The original Reddit thread seems to be gone. The Reddit user seems to not exist anymore, deleted their account or got banned?

The customize screen says "Stained" instead of Tinted now.

The icons are all over the place visually. The Contacts circle is a different size than Safari's. Some are mostly transparent like the Notes icon, others aren’t at all.

Calendar is renamed Planner.

Visually, it looks very Apple-like and polished in some areas.

I was hoping for something a little more vibrant but, in the end, they’re just virtual buttons you push.

And Mark Gurman saying “no” probably makes it more likely, lol! 😂 🤣. Look, I’m not sold that these pictures are necessarily what we will see, but I also am tired of Gurman’s incredibly vague claims about the aesthetic, but then he’s instantly an expert on what it will look like when someone else makes a claim/rumor. It’s like, he’s been extremely vague and unforthcoming, yet then armchair examines everyone else. If he’s so certain about what it will look like, then why doesn’t he give us a clearer and less vague description? I think he may just be guessing at this point, who knows…

He’s seen it apparently. He has to respect his sources too keep in mind.

I don't understand this obsession with Gurman. The majority of his claims are incredibly vague that any one of us could've made them in our sleep. And when he's wrong, he just says it's been pushed or canceled, and people just eat it up.
Any time I see his name as a source, I just skip it altogether these days. He's been more wrong than your local weather reporter.

If he’s seen it, why not describe it a little more clearly. He can respect his sources and describe more than “loose elements of visionOS.”… I suspect he doesn’t really know what it will look like, has maybe at best seen some guesswork, and so is being so vague so that essentially whatever Apple drops, he can say “see I was right”! 🤦🏼‍♂️. As someone else said, he hasn’t really said a single detail or thing about the design that nobody couldn’t easily guess in their sleep…. The level of vagueness doesn’t inspire any confidence that he actually knows what he’s talking about…

Only a few days to next Monday thankfully. Getting tired of rumors being worse the closer we get. ;)
The wishful mockups and fakery abound, but I think we also get some real leaks the week before an event when it gets harder to keep things secret from everyone involved. Markup in Notes, automatic translation, polls in Messages, animated lock screen art for music. That stuff is probably all accurate leaks.

This is probably more like what to expect instead of round icons, sounds very promising if Apple does something like it. It’s just a another thought.

Because depending on what he says he could get someone fired. And yes he will be wrong that is the nature of reporting on leaks. Not sure what is so surprising about that.

What has me enthusiastic about this whole redesign is imagining the plethora of 3rd party apps adopting Apple new design language!

From Google to Apple having a new design language… as both an Android and Apple user, it’s awesome right now.

I totally agree. 👍🏻. The app icons may change a bit, but I think the biggest difference will be with other UI elements across the system. 👍🏻

Ok, I get that for very specific and detailed info, but how would, for example, even just saying something as simple as “the app icons will be squircle shaped, or “the app icons will be round” get anyone fired? Presumably, a decent number of people in Apple have seen the icons, I don’t think this would out his sources at all. It clearly doesn’t seem to have outed Prossers’ sources. At some point, it just comes across like Gurman is being intentionally vague so that nobody can say he’s wrong.

And I get it, of course he’s going to get some things wrong. I have no problem with that at all. The problem is that whenever he does get things wrong, it’s like he never just admits he got it wrong, he just throws out excuses to explain it away, and he really was right. He’s being so incredibly vague on some things anymore, and couching it in so much speculation terminology that it comes across much of the time that he’s merely speculating.

You know the word for a leak that’s wrong? A guess.
He’s a leaker. His whole persona is based on having an inside track to Apple.
A good way to keep your “source” safe is to shut it when it can put them in harms way. Not say something anyway and lose your credibility.

Gotta keep people on their toes 😆. I really look forward to the reactions if the icons are circle, gonna be hilarious. Personally I don’t care either way.

As for Gurman, 🤷‍♂️. It’s better than no leaks, if he’s wrong he’s wrong. People leak stuff to him and trust him not to out them. I don’t have an issue with him.

I don’t get why you would get enjoyment at others detriment. If you don’t care either way, that’s fine, but why would you be happy if some are forced with a change they don’t like? Personally, I think the best solution, if Apple is even entertaining the possibility of circle app icons, would be to give users a choice to use squircle or circle icons. They’ve consistently provided options for other changes, like when they changed Safari, and a “Customize” menu for the Home Screen already exists. Just add icon shape as an option in that menu. I just don’t understand why you keep saying you’ll enjoy it if others are stuck with a design they don’t like…

Because people are way overreacting and I think its silly, life will go on if it is a circle.

And I don’t just mean people on here, I mean comments on X and Reddit too. Apple fans can be a little….much, to put it lightly.

Edit: but if I had to bet, I would bet they will not be circles.

I think of course life will go on, but I still wouldn’t want to be stuck with circle icons. I just don’t like how they look. Would you like it if someone forced all the icons on your phone to be clown faces? Okay then, maybe some people just don’t want to be stuck with a look that they don’t like. Of course, some people are extra over things, it’s the internet after all, but I still don’t understand why one would take enjoyment out of a controversial change that many people wouldn’t like to be forced onto them. 🤷🏼‍♂️. Personally, as I said, if Apple is going to change the icons so dramatically, they should provide users with options to choose, as they’ve done with many other aspects of the system. App UIs will likely have no such choice, and that makes sense because app UIs aren’t very simple to change, but app icons on a Home Screen are. The menu already exists. Personally, I think Apple should provide options for this either way.

Come on man, you are comparing circles to clown faces that’s what I mean it is not going to be that bad lol.

Of course it isn’t as bad as clown faces, but I’m using an extreme example to explain the principle. I would have thought that was obvious, but I suppose I should have explained that better. The point I’m making is that clearly many people don’t want circle icons, so why would we cheer for them to be forced on them? Shouldn’t we be for choices and options where it makes sense? Give people an option to select what they want? That’s the point I’m trying to make. 👍🏻

I think people will complain about any change no matter what and it’s not actually about the shape of the icon.

Edit: I wouldn’t be against a choice but I highly doubt that will happen I bet it will be one or the other.
