Beejive updated today, but with NO mention of being 4.0 compatible. I will have to check it out later though.

I never saw a Beejive update except for the 3.4 out a few days ago... and it didn't have multitasking or save state. AIM hasn't added it either. I hope they do soon because I use Beejive all the time to talk to my girl abroad in England and it would be nice to not have to wait for it to launch and load every time. I assume it will be out eventually. It took them 3 weeks to implement Push notifications after 3.0's launch.

Enjoy Sudoku was updated earlier in the week with retina display graphics and save-state multitasking. This developer is fast with the updates... it's universal too, so works with iPad.

Well last night the coPilot live got a completely needed update. There was an issue with the graphics on the retina display and it was unusable. It now fully background ready and they added push notifications for when you are on a call. Very happy with this update. Plus it runs SOOO much faster on my 4 than it ever did on my 3G. Now it is truly a viable solid app.

Corus radio got an update that says it's iOS 4.0 compatible. Their idea of backgrounding there streamed audio is to open a QuickTime screen like podcasts in safari :| lamest thing I've ever seen, it defeatsxthe purpose of streaming the music because now you can't browse safari.

I'm using Beejive and it seems to be working on iOS4.0 with the most recent update - push notifications are the way we're being alerted though, and it definitely looks like fast-app switching is there, saving the state of conversations etc to return to.

It would be nice though if they did confirm it was 4.0 supported and what if any multi-tasking was supported.

Has any app utilized the in app texting that jobs talked about? Because that was kind of a big thing for me, but with fast app switching and multitasking/save state is it really neccissary?

Not sure if this is what you mean but CoPilot Live will send push notifications is you are on a call and you have a turn upcoming. Curious to see that in action.

Ironically, the apps that Jobs previews during his keynotes always take the longest to be developed and actually appear in the App Store.

no in the keynote jobs said app developers can now make it so that you can send text messages in their apps, so that you dont have to leave the application to reply to a received text.

I don't think he said that part. It's just a form that devs can add to their app so you can text content from the app without having to copy it from there and then paste it into Messages.

Example: There's an Emoji app that allows you to design Emoji. After you're finished you can send your design via SMS. That's all it is.

that is lame because there have been many other streaming apps that have been doing this long before iOS4 (wunder radio is one example, you can click a link that opens the stream in safari and then use other apps)

.

beejive WORKS with iOS4 but it definitely isn't any different as far as multitasking goes. switching between apps including beejive is exactly the same as it has been for months (at least for me it is) i wouldn't classify beejive as taking advantage of the new API yet.

Keynote note in the video at 2:13 he says and I quote "they can put SMS inide their apps" I;m pretty sure he's talking about a Quick Reply type feature for texting.

yeah whats the point of having it stream in safari, you cant browse the web which was the point of backgrounding audio streaming apps like that, because people want to listen and search the web.

ah well i dont use it often but i do listen to the radio sometimes to find out whats new in the music world.

Use another app to browse, such as Atomic, A1, or Opera.

You're wrong.
Why don't you provide information to back up your two word response because as it stands the information I've provided states that you are infact wrong not me.

Use another app to browse, such as Atomic, A1, or Opera.

I normally use perfect browser but it has some compatibility issues. It is still dumb how they require you to use safari instead of using the API provided, which apps like pandora seem to have utilized (in Canada no pandora for me)

Your interpretation is not information. He didn't say what you heard.

In-App SMS
Compose SMS messages from within apps, similar to the Mail compose sheet added in iPhone SDK 3.0.

3.0 allowed devs to add an email form to their apps, so people could email content from the app. This is the exact same thing.

While I hope you are wrong, I currently am sitting corrected.

However I had really hoped apple had introduced a quick reply type feature as I hate having to exit an app just to reply to a message.

You are wrong, he is correct.

It's a SMS sheet just like the email compose feature that was introduced in 3.0.

Acronym, you are wrong.
The beauty of it is now with multitasking you won't have to close out of applications to reply to SMS. Now you can hit the home button, click the SMS application, reply, hit home, click on the application you were using, and you're back exactly where you were.

Anyone know when Doodle Jump will be updated? :D

Apple posted a page on the App Store called Awesome iOS 4 Apps. Right now that page has 42 apps. It contains all of my iOS 4 apps except 1 (TuneIn Radio). So I'm assuming it's Apple's favourite, or most notable, iOS 4 apps. It's a good spot to check out if you're searching for iOS 4 friendly apps.

Does anyone know if Brushes supports the retina display? I'm thinking of buying Brushes, but I don't want to until the display is supported. I really dislike how old apps look on my phone.
