Do you mean continuous animation in the sense that you can slide the weather widget to the side to reveal the week forecast? If so, that's been there since iOS 5.0

I don't see this feature you speak of.

Today when I look it shows rain, but the same as before, static image of rain.

Last night it showed fog or clouds, and the graphic itself was continuously scrolling horizontally. Really nice looking effect. Honestly maybe that particular one was already like that and I just never noticed.

1. New Now Playing icon in Music app (3.5" devices, anyway)
2. Maybe it's because I was jailbroken before, but it seems a lot faster (a LOT faster). Jailbreaking has never had a significant impact on speed, but it's faster for me now. I will be re-jailbreaking within 10 seconds of the untether being released, so we'll see.

Battery life is much better. Not sure about faster but my touch is running smoother since the update.

In earlier versions of iOS, if I closed all the tabs/pages of Safari when I was finished using it (out of paranoia!), whenever I went to open up Safari again - it would immediately open my bookmarks. It no longer appears to do that under 5.1. It just opens a blank white page which I prefer.

This is the best feature of 5.1 in my opinion lol

Yay, NoBookmarks is one of the first tweaks I install from Cydia!

when doing speech dictation and siri continues to suck and can't dictate. The 3 purple dots shake back and forth then go away.

god i feel like i used to be able to dictate all the time, now its rare that i can.

such BS.

I was using Tip Calculator app for dinner tonight and noticed a little box with an arrow appear in the top right of my status bar. Tapped it and a "Quick Switch" box popped up. I don't think I've noticed this before. Correct me if I'm wrong. Only seems to do this on certain apps?

This is what you were talking about?

Not sure if its new either, never noticed it before. It looks like if you own any of those apps you can "quick switch" between them. I only own the tip calculator.

Also i'm still getting this bug popping up

With camera disabled in restrictions you can now iMessage! Before you could only send regular texts if the camera was disabled! This is big for me as I can't have the camera activated at work.

A few people have mentioned that bookmarks used to open when you opened a new Safari page. Is that an iPad thing? I don't think I've ever seen that on my iPhone.

Anyone check out the really beautiful stock wallpapers? Maybe they were there before, but I just discovered them.

Settings > Wallpaper > arrow on right > Wallpaper

Also, my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 seem faster - like when I open an app or send a text.

Icons look brighter, too, and lettering under them seem to have more distinct shadows, making them easier to read.

I remember that iOS 5.1 Beta had 4 new wallpapers, which I was expecting to see after I updated. But I have no new ones. :(

From what I remember, on e of the new ones is the blue water background used for the new iPad.

The camera-slide feature on the lock screen does not appear when you receive a new text/iMsg when locked. This is obviously not a new feature, just noticing the camera doesn't appear with this scenario in iOS5.1

I noticed one just a few minutes ago regarding iTunes Match--

In iOS 5.01, if you went to Settings-->General-->About and looked at "Songs" it gave you the number of however many were in iTunes Match whether they're on the actual device or not. In 5.1 it only gives you the number of how many are on the actual device you're looking at.

Very helpful. I always questioned that functionality because I do want to know on the fly how many I actually HAVE on the device, not how many I have available in the cloud.

That's not part of the OS, it's part of the app. It's a way to switch between all the apps of that dev (iHandySoft). I have their alarm clock app and that button has been there for a long time now in that app.

I know which one you mean ... and that one is NOT in my stock wallpaper file. Too bad because it certainly works wonders to create a beautiful screen. The gray rain background by comparison is drab.

Blue water with ripples? It's on iPad, but not iPhone. Did not even think to check the differences between the two.

It's an iPhone thing, and didn't happen on an iPad :p. It would only open if you had no tabs already open when launching safari. I'm so glad it's gone now though because that was quite annoying.

One thing that bugs me is that when I turn off 3G and then reboot or turn on/off my phone, it automatically turns the 3G on. This is annoying.

Only thing I have to point out about 5.1 really, as for the rest, loving it!

Anyone notice how everything is a bit smaller in the Settings app? Or are my eyes deceiving me?

This was always there - if bluetooth was enabled but not paired it would be a grey color - it would then turn white when paired.

No new wallpapers here.

I like the 4G indicator to make me think I am on a faster network. :)

Can you now:

1) Compose an email
2) Attach a photo (without prating around with copy and paste going back and forth between mail and photos)

I noticed the keyboard shortcuts are now in alphabetical order!

I noticed that too but I wasn't sure if it was a new thing or if I just wasn't paying attention before, lol.

How? Is there an "attach file" option I'm not seeing?
