This was always there - if bluetooth was enabled but not paired it would be a grey color - it would then turn white when paired.

No new wallpapers here.

I like the 4G indicator to make me think I am on a faster network. :)

Did it not change with 5.0? Knew it was like that before 5.0

Has anybody else noticed that when the iPhone's battery reaches 100%, the phone vibrates?!
Is that new to 5.1? At least I think it is.

I've noticed the Bluetooth icon stays on the status bar on the home screen now regardless if it's paired or not. Like this on my iPad, not on my 4S though

I'm not 100% sure, but it might be because the new iPad has Bluetooth 4.0 technology and it will be running 5.1. Once again, not sure though. Just a guess :)

In earlier versions of iOS, if I closed all the tabs/pages of Safari when I was finished using it (out of paranoia!), whenever I went to open up Safari again - it would immediately open my bookmarks. It no longer appears to do that under 5.1. It just opens a blank white page which I prefer.

I have waited for this feature forever! I cannot stand a bunch of pages open and hated the delay between the bookmarks opening.

i found this feature today and couldn't be happier!

Have any of you guys noticed the little music speaker, when you play songs in your car from the iPhone?

The app store now shows an "install" button in place of price for apps already purchased through your apple ID. Really convenient addition, we no longer actually have to tap BUY before finding out that the app is free!

Especially helpful if you share the apple ID with family members.

Also: tried to add a picture, but we can only add pictures with URLs? No upload option??

The Install button has been there since iOS 5.0.

1. New Now Playing icon in Music app (3.5" devices, anyway)
2. Maybe it's because I was jailbroken before, but it seems a lot faster (a LOT faster). Jailbreaking has never had a significant impact on speed, but it's faster for me now. I will be re-jailbreaking within 10 seconds of the untether being released, so we'll see.

With my iPod touch (4G) Jail breaking it slowed it down considerably. I didn't notice it got slower until I played with my girlfriends 3GS. I noticed it was much faster than my iPod, even with the slower hard wear. I unjailbroke it to 5.0.1 and it was crazy faster. Updated to 5.1 and if it is faster at all, it is almost unnoticeable.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet.

When taking a photo with the front facing camera, it uses face detection like the rear camera. Very good improvement!

Is the little transparent menu bar at the top of the home screen slightly darker/less translucent?

If I'm listening to a podcast, if I press the power button on top to lock the phone the audio cuts out for a split second. Also happens when you swipe to unlock the phone. Only happens when listening to podcasts. Seems to be a glitch. VERY annoying.

Also, chapter titles in podcasts don't show up anymore. I made a thread regarding this issue and can be found here:

I haven't seen the blue jeans one before. It really works with the leather and wood designs Apple are so fond of.

Seriously wtf?

Negatory, that's an oldie but a goodie. Haven't checked to see if that new blue one is on the iPad, though. I like it. :)

I'd like to report that battery life seems noticeably better for the first time. I've never had a software update where the battery was actually noticeably different. Haven't charged at all in 2 days, and I still have more than 40% battery. With no change in use, my battery would usually be in the red going in to it's third day.

5.1 looks to have cured my crashing and overheating problems.

It used to crash and restart whilst in sleep mode, about 5 times a day.

It overheated and shutdown about twice a day as well. Had to hard reset it to get it to switch back on.

Thought it was a hardware fault but it's been fine since updating. No longer getting panic files in my diagnostic data. :D
