The google search field (on their site) in Safari still has a glitch. Adding text at the end of a search string is a pain and you can't see what you're typing behind the 'x'.

Glad i'm not the only one that's pissed about that.

Also im not sure if this is just me either. If i alter what i'm searching for then hit the Blue "Search" button on the keyboard, nothing happens. I have to hit the magnifying glass next to the google search bar to get it to do a search again

Sorry if this has been mentioned.

The much reviled Music app on the iPad didn't change for the most part.

But they did seem to change the shuffle display.

Before it went from white to light grey and was hard to tell if it was activated.
Now it changes to and orange color so there is no confusion.
Update (only seems to be orange in album full screen view).

Time to get with modern times, man. Miles and the rest of the imperial system are going the way of the dinosaur

Been hearing that in the US since I was a kid in elementary school. Hasn't happened yet and I'm 26.

Is that why the UK switched from metric to imperial for most of their measurements? Mostly for distance, I think they stick with metric for weight, as it would just lead to confusion over there.

I think imperial is here to stay.

Sorry folks, back on topic now.

Switched? Like when exactly?
They actually introduce metric very slowly in the UK. Weight, yes, also temperatures (but not always). And it will eventually render the imperial useless (since the UK is the only country in Europe using a system that is not compatible with the rest of the continent, yes I know what "the continent" means in British English).

I agree we'll mostly use metric but miles are here to stay. Too many road signs would need changing otherwise lol

Safari lets you resume a partially watched video. I don't think you could do that before.

For me, that only happens if the phone is connected to my mac.

If I use a wall charger, it stays off.

Did some more testing and it actually only happens for me if I charge the phone in my original iPhone 2G dock (which has always worked fine).
Crafty Apple forcing a dock upgrade ;)

Landscape in Pages on the iPhone!

Also, if you touch (but don't drag) the arrow on the lock screen, the "slide to unlock" text doesn't stop with the "white wave" through it. The white wave used to go away as soon as you made contact with the arrow, now it doesn't go away until you start to move it.

However, it does stop as soon as you start dragging on the camera icon which is good feedback for saying the slider can't be slid when you drag on the camera icon. I love all these details.

Also the Korean system font is thicker.

It shouldn't turn itself on again even on a mac.. otherwise how would we enter DFU mode while connected?

uhhhh my phone has always turned back on and its always bugged me. i never thought anything of it. i thought it was just something apple updated in one of the updates. wonder if its some kind of bug? i hate it because i usually charge my phone at night when i need to and i like to turn it off during the night, but it won't let me. just keeps coming back on. this happens when plugged into my mac or through the wall. i thought that my original iPhone would let me turn it off. my 3, 4 and 4S have all turned back on though... wonder why? i would love to avoid this..

I dunno if already posted, however, Safari on the iPhone now has an "open in background," option, that was not there even in the iOS 5.1 betas.

actually, i think i just figured it out. i guess I've never tested it both ways, but i always turned it off before plugging it in. this would make it turn on. if i plug it in and then turn it off, it will stay off. my question is.. is it still charging? how can you tell it's charging when it is off?

Now my wife can use the slider to unlock the phone. with voiceover you had to do it really slowly. Now she can do it like all of us normal people. But she is so used to 2 finger double tap I doubt it matters.

I have noticed more weight measurements being given in KG now and not stones. Miles will probably stick in the UK forever though.
