swipe up on an icon to clear its badge if you are the type to be annoyed by notification badges

swipe down on an icon to open folder-style for a notification summary/clear like in notification center

ability to opt out of a group message, end a message if you are its author, and flip a switch on/off for group messages when composing the first.

usage stats for time spent in different apps so you can see how much of your life has been lost to angry birds or some dumb sword fighting game

productivity mode that stops you from absentmindedly pulling your phone out to check some junk when you are trying to get something done or in a social situation

fart app integration

SMARTER SIRI!

I was talking to Siri today and I realized, she's pretty dumb. I asked what her IQ was and she said she don't want to say.

- Multitouch Gestures for iPhone
- Safari Extensions/Adblock
- Siri Improvements
- Speed Improvements
- Turn off Diagnostic & Usage Data
- Turn off Multitasking
- Turn off Spotlight
- Add files from Skydrive to photos/videos/music app
- Update to an iOS beta without a computer
- Developing for iOS on iOS
- Unjailbreakable

Yes let's turn off multitasking and spotlight and let's uninvent the wheel while we are at it too.

Also you've clearly never developed for ios if you think you could use a mobile phone with such a little screen. Running a full speed emulator for a device on the same device makes no sense either.

I would love a more usable Siri, preferably to open applications or to have more functionality than she does now.

Display company name as well for any incoming call. With 4000 contacts there are many common names and this is a problem.

Would Jail-breaking a 4S allow me do all this?

I may be missing something here, but is swipe up actually feasible? The reason swipe down works is that the device status screen has no touch enabled features and so touching the screen up there to swipe down does not risk any accidental actions.

As I type this, my keyboard extends right to the bottom of the screen and an attempt to swipe from here would lead to unintended consequences.

A shame as I liked the idea.

The jailbreak exploits can also be used for malware, OpenSSH is a big security risk and we will have less piracy.

Did you know that most of what wee see on iOS is from Jailbreak tweaks?

Custom user wallpaper. Jailbreak.
Download apps&games on iPod Touch 1G&iPhone 1. Jailbreak (WAAAYYYYY back in 1.1.4 days)
Ability to create folders. Jailbreak.
Use 'Backgrounder' to multitask. Jailbreak.
Notification center? Notifier+ from Jailbreak.

You know, Apple has taken a lot of ideas from Jailbreak (and maybe Apple had some of these ideas on their own) that make the iOS today.

Oh, and about piracy. Saurik, Musclenerd, and various other members from Dev-Team, Greenpois0n, etc are highly against piracy when using Cydia, and so should everyone else.

Very true. It's a shame that, somewhere along the line, Cydia and Jailbreaking ended up meaning "piracy" to more people than it meant "modding".

Let's say that you have two. Numbers. One is forwarded to the other one, the second sits in your iPhone. Someone calls the first number, the iPhone rings as the first number is forwarded, I would like a notification on the iPhone that the call is made on the first number like every other Nokia does. There is a special symbol next to the callers number that the call has been forwarded. That's what I'm lacking. I forward all my companies calls to my private iPhone and I'd like to know that a person is calling me or my corporate number. Not having this info is actually bummer....

1) Siri on my iPad 2.
2) Make Newsstand a special folder I can delete.
3) Allow me to add apps not built for Newsstand to Newsstand. Maybe let me teach Newsstand to pull articles from said apps. It's possible, assuming the way to retrieve articles does not change. I saw a news app app that wasn't built for Newsstand.

On an unrelated note, it would be great if Apple gave me a free iPhone 4S. Maybe someday my iTunes purchases will qualify me to receive said iPhone or to enter a raffle or sweepstakes to win the iPhone.

This is something that I have been thinking for a while now, when running full screen games/apps (full screen as in no iPad, wifi signal, time, battery) to totally disable any notification popups. It is very off putting when playing a game when a notification comes onscreen halfway through playing a game, you take your eyes off it for a split second and that's it.

I think if it was to be implemented it would needs its own section in the settings so you could toggle all the different apps and also have a main on/off switch.

What are your thoughts on this? I appreciate that the iOS 5 notifications aren't as intrusive as iOS 4 and previous versions, but they do still take your eyes off the game! I also understand that the idea of notifications is so that you are always in the know.

(ideas keep popping up in my head) The ability to bring up your music selection from the multitasking bar by holding your finger down on the play button:

I have one small feature that i would love to see added.

I have 2 email accounts setup in mail. One for personal and one for work.

I also have a signature setup which is mainly for my work.

The problem is, when i reply to my personal email message, my work signature is added to the bottom of the email, which i have to manually delete every time.

I would like it so that i can have signatures only set to specific email accounts, so if i set it to my work account, then when i reply to a personal email, that signature is not added.

Good suggestions...

A couple of things I would like to see:
•Ability to hide native apps
•AirPlay mirroring for iPod touch
•Facebook integration
•iPhoto abilities for iPod touch.
•Expanded folders to hold 16 apps
•Ability to play all YouTube videos, not just certain ones
•A little bit out there, but Siri for fourth gen devices, like iPad 2, iPod touch 4g, and iPhone 4.

Why do you care what a parent does with their own children?

So if someone is beating their child you wouldn't say anything?

Children are the future they need to be raised right.

ON TOPIC:

-Give the iPod Touch a battery indicator, no idea why no indicator is there
-16 app folders
-Hide native apps
-3rd party widgets

Even from the days of my first iPhone I have thought that the Clock app's icon should display the time and not be stuck at 10:15 all the time (similar to the way Calendar displays the day of the week). Weather app could show currently temperature and appropriate weather symbol for current location. Maps app could constantly display a little image of my current location and surroundings instead of 1 Infinite Loop. Probably would take up too much RAM/CPU because these seem like obvious details to me. For that matter, most icons should be able to have live displays so I can just glance at them, and maybe pinch zoom to see it enlarged.

Option for animated background wallpaper, or allowing for a wallpaper slideshow.

Built-in customization/skinning...maybe spawn a Skin Store?

Of course "true" multitasking would be nice, but probably only truly important/usable on an iPad. Seems like at least a "2-page" option could be viable.

I agree with you. It doesn't even have to be live, just every time you load the screen, the time is different.

A setting that would allow the alarm to just play the alert tone when the phone is in silent mode rather than vibrate plus the alert tone.

I keep my phone on silent 100% of the time and having it vibrate on my nightstand every morning is really annoying.
