In the calculator app, you can hold your finger on the answer and do a copy&paste to documents, emails, ...

I have a groceries reminder list which is shared with my wife which is really practical. For example , if I'm at work and she adds to the grocery list, I'm automatically notified by email that an item has been added to the list. #

It's been there since iOS 3.1

Pandora recently updated their app to take advantage of lock screen album art. I haven't seen any other 3rd party apps do this yet so I presume it's an iOS 5 feature.

I also wonder if this now streams Pandora album art to Apple TV.

While at a hotel recently, I noticed under Wi-Fi that you can now add the WEP/WPA key and log in information (like room # or user id) so it will auto-connect once you are back in range.

While not the coolest feature for all, frequent travelers will really enjoy it.

Please could you tell me how do you do this, it would be REALLY handy for me?
Thanks :)

You can now remove individual calls from the call history log :)

What I want to do is a similar concept - delete individual items from the Safari history. I hate that I have to clear the entire history. WUWT? I like that I found out on this board that you can do private browsing, but I'd still like to be able to delete specific sections of my history.

I went to page 7 and didn't see any mention of this feature (and I don't think it is documented - but sorry if it has been mentioned or documented already).

You can do a tonne more with the Calendar app now, both on iPhone and iPad - as mentioned before, holding down your finger on the day in month view adds a whole day event.

Now try going to day view and holding down your finger. A new event will appear defaulting to 1 hour which you can drag and drop into the appropriate time slot. You can also drag it left and right to swap between days. Once you drop it into the slot, the "Add Event" dialogue appears. Don't do anything with the time and just enter Title, Location, Invites, Calendar etc etc and click done (oh did anyone mention you can now save events to go off "At time of event"? Or "On day of event (9:00am)"? used to drive me nuts going off at midnight every time) and then when you go back to the day view, click and hold on the newly created event - you can now drag and drop it into a new slot as you desire and when you take your finger off, note that now two dots appear above and below which you can drag to adjust the time right on the calendar!

About time we see some features like this! They really should have been there since day 1.

Tunein Radio has just done likewise too.

I have noticed that TV Shows and Podcasts magically sync their played, partially played and unplayed status across my iPhone and iPad. This seems to happen as long as both devices are on the same wifi network. Keep in mind I'm not talking about Wi-Fi Sync! this is something else, kind of like the way iBooks syncs pages read and whatnot. The only bummer to this is that iTunes doesn't get this same "magic" play status sync so the device that actually played the media has to do a full sync in order for its played/unplayed flag to get flipped. Which makes it mostly useless for now, but still i didn't see any documentation of this!

Any one else seeing this?

Yes, I noticed this yesterday. I watched most of a TV programme on my iPad, didn't sync as I was away from home, but then noticed that the same programme on my iPhone was showing as partially viewed to the same point.

VERY useful !!!! :)

In notification center, not only does it display the current weather at your current location, but you can also swipe left on the weather widget and get the next 5 day's forecasts as well. Sorry if this is well documented, but I've shown lots of people that didn't know this existed. This only works for your current location - no other saved weather locations show in notification center - you must go to the weather.app for that.

dude...been said a million times.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was already posted, but here goes,

If you were to get a Fedex/UPS tracking number in your email if you held your thumb on the number the only thing it would allow you to do is "Track Shipment". Now there's another option to "Copy" it. It's not a huge deal, but it's better than having the press on white space and then slide your finger over the number so it highlights it, instead of clicks it.

Oh cool! I didn't know it would do even if you weren't on your "home" Wi-Fi or not. I guess it'll sync via your Apple ID?

Enabling assistive touch

I don't know if this has been posted, i have not read the entire thread. If you enable assistive touch it totally gets rid of using the home button, except when turning the ipad on of course. You can also control the volume, shake the ipad, and rotate the screen by simply touching buttons in the assistive touch menu which is always available on your ipad screen, if enabled, as a white transparent circle. I think this feature is very cool.

works nicely on iPhone4S as well. pretty cool, thanks.

How do you attach more than 1 photo to an email?

When in Photos.app, go to an album, tap the icon in the upper right (box with an arrow), tap the photos you want to email, then tap "Share" and select "Email" (if you select more than 5 photos "Email" isn't an option). :)

You should still be able to COPY 5 at a time, go to a email and paste. Go back and copy 5 more and then back to the email and paste etc. assuming you don't go over the email allotment for size, you can add a bunch.

True, but why does Apple limit it to 5 when using the "Email" functionality? Makes no sense.

Sorry, but I haven't read it all, so this may have been said, but it might be useful for new people.

In Weather.app, you can tap on a day's forecast and it will give you hour by hour predictions.
