...not really an iOS 7 feature but I wish that the Calendar would keep people's ages (birthdays) up to date!!

By that I mean I wish I could enter people's birthdays and then the Calendar would automatically update their ages every year!!

Why ? it doesn't work any more with iOS 7 ?
I'm still on iOS6 ( Not a dev )and I just checked , it works fine with iOS 6 .

.....ok - I may be a little naive here but how do you actually add birthdays on the calendar in iOS6?!

All I have been doing is just adding a normal Calendar entry and putting a note that it is a birthday - is there a way I can specifically add it as a birthday along with the D.O.B?

EDIT - :eek:DOH...!!! Just googled it and found this:

Adding Birthdays to iPhone

Can't believe iOS7 is out in a few weeks and I have just discovered a feature in iOS 6 which I never knew about:rolleyes::rolleyes::eek::eek:

Can you change the first day of the week in Calendar in iOS 7, or is it fixed at Monday as in previous iOS versions - really annoying!

You'r not alone…I only did it last month ;)
The only problem is that the person has to be in your contact list !
So , for the children who don't have a phone # or email , I just added an entry with name and birthday.

yah, i have this on my ipad (1) w/ios 5.1.1, but, I think it goes back to iOS 4 or earlier...something you just don't find unless you are trying every little thing out, or dig into the ipad/iphone user guide. I stumbled across this myself when doing the "add field" looking for birthdays and found it hidden there...I was expecting "birthday" to be like "add new address", like everyone, I'm sure .

that link you posted (Dino F) is the easiest way to show you how, nice tip.

...with the Radio app....

2. I wonder if there will be an online version similar to Pandora.
Uh, in case you missed it, Apple has told us all along it will be in iTunes (mac/win). iTunes 11.1 which will be available same time as iOS 7 public release...Apple has announced this already.

I don't like it at all - highlighted in red. Too much on the screen

I don't either, the lockscreen looks so nice, except for those three items, now that the top & bottom are flat bars, not arrows, there is no need for the arrow next to "slide to unlock", but, if we just got rid of the top & bottom bars altogether, (and the arrow), it's pretty obvious, by the animation, you slide to the right to unlock.

If Apple is determined to keep the bars there, they should make them thin like everything else, and flush with the top & bottom so they aren't obtrusive.
Despite having owned every model of iPhone and countless tens of thousands of unlock swipes, with the first arrowless betas, I frequently found that I was mistakenly swiping from right-to-left as though the homepage was on the right side of the lockscreen and I was swiping to move over there.

Then every time I gave my phone to my son, he'd try to unlock it by swiping up (even though he has an iPhone as well and should know better) since the Control Center icon used to be an up arrow.

So, personally, I'm glad the arrow and dashes are there

This is the only reason there was ever any confusion, because the first betas of iOS 7 had arrows pointing up and down for the control center and notifications.

However, on the home screen, there is nothing up top, but, you know notifications are there, do you not?

Again, I think they are useless. ...at the very least make it an option for "clean look" for the lock screen. ...because Apple did a great job with the lockscreen otherwise.

(by the way, I don't want to assume everyone knows this, but, the bars top & bottom are only there when notifications and control center are enabled for the lockscreen, to show it's there (overkill, if you ask me, if you have it on, you know it's there without looking), but, turn this off for either one and that bar goes away.)

...just realised that the only problem is however, that using that guide - the birthdays still do not show the person's age? Is there a way to show this?!

If you read the 'guide' Dino F posted (Adding Birthdays to iPhone) to the end, you would've known:

"If you enter the contact’s birth year and sync with the Mac version of Calendar, the person’s age will show up in Calendar (example, “Anne’s 36th Birthday”). The person’s age does not show up in the iPhone/iPad Calendar app, however."

[EDIT] Although it doesn't seem to work on my MBP...

....dayam - don't have a mac to do that.

Shame it doesn't show the ages as well though - that would have been awsome! I think it kinda defeats the object of having a Birthday calandar if it doesn't show the ages - I can just manually enter the birthday info if the age doesn't show?!?

Well, it also appears on iPhone and iPad after iCloud syncing birthdays with a Mac, am I right? On my iPad (iOS 7 b4) it says Martin's 31st birthday.

...wonder why you need a MAC to get it to say Martin's 31st Birthday' for example?!

Surely the idea of putting in the year into the Contact's birthday field is purely so the phone knows the persons age - it should then show this in the calendar. Don't really understand why it doesn't?!

Anyone seen this? It's not related to any app, seems to come up at random...

I get a blue vertical band that sweeps back and forth across the screen? Just started happening and it occurs every couple minutes or so.

Beta 6 issue. iPhone 5 with dead (0%) battery doesn't turn on by itself when plugged in (after regaining initial charge for a few minutes). This has happened to me three times so far. The first time this happened, I thought it was a fluke. It kinda sucks when I plug in my dead phone at night, and expect the alarm to wake me up in the morning, but the phone never turned on like its supposed to.:(

Could it be some sort an accessibility type of feature?

You're being scanned?

I really find it hard to believe that there hasn't been a drop shadow on icon names yet. iOS 7 just looks terrible with most wallpapers. The font needs some sort of ability to stand out..just feels really incomplete. Hoping for the GM to have some refinement.
