I also noticed that deep inside these settings, the iPhone also learns where your frequent locations are! My phone has learnt where my home address is and also my work address as these are my 2 most visited locations!

Once it has learned your routine notification center will display the estimated travel time to those destinations at the time's it think's you need them.

I think I'm 50/50 on ios 7 so far. I do feel like its an improvement from iOS 6, but its improved upon things that I don't really care about and its changed things that I do care about. Mainly safari reader and calendar. Safari reader is not easier to read at all and because the largest font size it goes to is still too puny. Then there's calendar, while the scroll feature is cool, I don't like how when you click on an date, it shows you your entire calendar for that day and minimizes the entire month. I preferred the old version where you could still see the entire month and scroll through a date's events at the bottom.

Overall I love the look, but would prefer more customizability.

iOS 7 = horrible.... nuff said

I have so many problems with the new iOS it would take far too long to post here but to say a few things that are simply describing my lackluster enthusiasm for it will have to suffice.... for now that is...

First and for most... the keyboard! What the hell were they thinking? Thin stylish letter that say oooh, sleek and pretty... INEFFICIENT!!!! I have to wear glasses, and to look at my phone in the middle of the night was difficult at best to reply to a simple text with iOS 6. Now, that is made impossible with the new keyboard... not to mention it is not very well defined keys make it just plain bad. My daughter loves it and why wouldn't she. She is 20 eyes work perfectly... I found the "make text bold" feature then thought, cool, i can at least make my text thicker to see better...NOPE! Just the words coming in or going out change. Not the keyboard. This change was totally pathetic.

How about the apple maps... great they made one... great they added this cool 3D feature... however the one thing I was hoping for was a distance legend... you know, when your driving a long distance or even a short one you might want to see just about how much farther your destination is away from where you are... and they made one!!! WAY COOL... but wait.. it only shows up when you zoom in or out... Who thought that one up... why would anyone want to only see that when your zooming... DRIVING MEANS YOU CANT USE THE MAP MUCH!! Especially with two hands (which is what is required to zoom in and out). Map - Driving - Directions - Distance... all this information all needs to be available with out interaction... right? RIGHT?!? but apple decided to hide it while your looking at the map with out interaction... stupid decision is all I can say about that... but one more thing on maps... when you are driving and need to zoom in or out... you need two fingers to do it... not google maps... which has a much better traffic view than apple... dotted lines only on clogged areas... WTF? Google has it down, double tap and hold to slide zoom in and out while driving...AWESOME!!! I use that way more often than apple maps. Sorry apple you get a fail on that app. Except google failed too when I try to remove a pin from their map app... you can't... totally frustrating. Don't the people that make these things, use them?

Ok, I have been blasting apple for this entire post. Dont get the wrong idea about how I feel... I will never use another phone, computer or device when I can use apple... and have since 1987! There are some very very good features in the new iOS that i am very happy to have, so i will weigh heavily the pros and cons in downgrading to iOS 6.

I have shown my friends that have not upgraded yet and they are very happy to see the disaster from someone else... I helped them dodge a bullet, they say.

I feel completely let down and disappointed with the new direction the iOS went. I know with enough complaining apple will address it but geeeeeeeezzzz guys... we need to use these things to complete our daily business and interact with others... we dont need a style piece to say look how slick and stylish this all is.... we need functionality... Not a blinding flat(ish) white interface with a buttonless text to click on...

I always say, function over form is better for efficiency. If I want an art piece i'll buy a painting.

iOS 7 bug

Selects wrong date

So since this is about the little things that we "beta testers" are concerned with:

I have a few and maybe somebody knows solutions or has any workarounds:

1. I can't hang up on people any longer when the phone is on its lock screen. It was always a bit cumbersome and I never understood why the screen you get when somebody calls you looks different when the phone is locked vs active. Now I can't find a way to click them away so that the call goes to voicemail immediately.

2. When the phone is connected to my Toyota bluetooth system for phone calls and navigation via google maps I now have a pretty bad delay after each set of direction from the google maps voice function. So the radio is playing, google lady says "in 1000 feet, turn left" - and then a pause of maybe 15 seconds or so before the radio comes back on. Very irritating and it didn't do this on iOS 6. Maybe the google maps app needs to be updated for 7 but I do have the most recent one as far as I can tell. Haven't tried yet to uninstall and reinstall.

3. I have to enter 6 digit code per corporate security rule. When I'm on the lock screen with new (silly looking) round button number pad there is a delay in the clicks for the first two digits I type in. Hard to describe but it feels like it needs to think about something first or wake up from something. Doesn't feel fluid at all - especially since it's then followed by the animation with the "flying" icons when going to the main screen. Feels slow and clumsy.

3a. The little "OK" field next to the passcode is - well - little. And hard to reach with the thumb during daily one handed operation (I do this with my left hand even though I'm right handed). This button should be at the bottom somewhere (where I think it used to be) and bigger.

4. Video forwarding and rewind in Safari is pretty finicky now. Small button and much less responsive then it used to be.

5. Can't prove that but I feel like I'm dropping more calls now. Also, I'm having trouble connecting with people on facetime who are on an older ipod touch (not updated).

Items #1 and #2 are the most troublesome to me at this point. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I could list a few more things that I find annoying but they're not unique to the new version. The only positive thing I've found so far is the ability to mark emails as read more easily then before. Not quite as good as my old Blackberry did that yet, but getting there.

Double tapping the sleep/lock button quickly will reject the call and send to voicemail from the lock screen. I only found this out two days ago when a friend pointed out that there's no longer a reject button on the lock screen, just answer.

I read somewhere that when you have automatic updates turned on (so that apps update in the background), you get a blue dot on the apps to show which ones were indeed updated.

I am not getting any of these dots above any of my apps (don't get them on my iPad 2 OR iPhone 5) ?! I get a notification in Notication Center to say which apps were updated but there is no blue dot above them apps?

Can someone please clarify if this is how it is supposed to work!!

Blue dot only shows up when the app is new and hadn't been opened or if it is an app that has it's own "pushed" update (like magazine or newspaper apps) to let you know there is new content.

After having iOS7 and a new 5S for 4 days I absolutely love both.

My only issue is the Notification Center. None of my news apps, NY Times, USA today, Fox, etc is updating in NC consistently. I read earlier in this thread that it might have something to do with the Maverick release. I hope that's true because I really miss the NC functioning properly. The only thing updating consistently in my NC is Facebook, calendar, and Xfinity app.

Anyone know what the issue is or is the Maverick release going to help??

Love this OS and 5S though. They are fabulous!!!

It shows up for updates too. However it appears to be somewhat buggy and doesn't always work correctly.
