I noticed updates now show their size, I don't remember seeing this previously.

this is how my download of the beta shows on my PC...am i doing something wrong?

ios_7_beta__iphone_5_model_a1428__11a4372q.dmg.pvix31b

I forgot that all the stuff from the dev center comes in .dmg format... Maybe this will help: http://filext.com/info/showthread.php?t=160

But you'll need a .ipsw file for it to work... not sure what the .pvix31b is at the end...

Good news about the new multitasking mode is that you can remove more than one app at a time. I was able to do 3 in this screenshot. Tried my best to
Get a good one ;)

You were always able to since its introduction.

That's awesome. Never knew that. Just got my first iPhone in October, but still...

With 4 folders of 16 apps each I can put everything in the dock with no multiple home screens. Gonna do that right now. (Easily amused apparently). :)

private browsing
I'm testing iOS 7 beta on a black iPhone 5 and changing the safari to private browsing made everything look much better so I decide to add a black background to my lock and home screen. Now the icons look better on my phone IMO

Hi, Guys !
As soon as I've installed IOS 7b1 on my IPhone 5 - synchronization with ITunes over the wireless network just stopped working. I've tried everything: restart IPhone, restart ITunes, restart Mountain Lion- nothing made this work.
I think this is one of the bugs in new IOS 7b1.
Does anybody notice this problem ?
Thanks, figaro331:confused::eek::eek:

Need to check the release notes. This is a known issue, and I believe the workaround is to install the iOS 7 SDK.

Calendar in the notification center

Is your calendar in the notification center working ?

Mine seems to be stuck between 00:00 and 08:00

Thx

I posted about this the other day and apparently people are blind cause people told me there were none shown. The images from apple have them but beta 1 does not.

I wonder if its a bug

I think that's from a later build and the build released to us is just an earlier one. You can see more than one thing has been tweaked and looks more final in the design of the press shot Apple released:

1. The fonts
2. Vertical spacing between the apps
3. Icon shadows
4. Newsstand app icon
5. iTunes Store app icon
6. Dock is more transparent
7. Stocks app icon

Forgive me if it's been mentioned already, but if you visit Apple's iOS 7 page on an iPhone 5 and scroll down to the "See iOS 7 in action" section, the little preview videos render at the iPhone 5's screen resolution, so when you play the videos it appears as though iOS 7 is running on your device. Pretty slick.

That is pretty cool. Maybe that explains why I couldn't see them on my MacBook. It's almost like I have iOS7. :)

I clearly remember at keynote presentation, they said airdrop is for products with latest wifi modules. However when I looked up specs of ipad3&ipad4 and went to gsmarena for detailed info. It turns out both ipad3 and ipad4 have dual band support, a/b/g/n capability for wifi module.

So not supporting airdrop on ipad3 due to the wifi module is just nonsense. They just want users to upgrade.

iPad 3 users hurt again....

Broadcom's BCM4334 WiFi controller is used in the iPad 4, iPad mini, and iPhone 5. The iPad 3 uses the BCM4330. Check this link.

The combo device [BCM4334] also features advanced switching techniques that enable concurrent dual-band operation to simultaneously support network connectivity with one band while also allowing content streaming via technologies such as Wi-Fi Display and Wi-Fi Direct.

So the BCM4334 can maintain a regular wifi connection on one band, while using the unused band for wifi direct. The BCM4330 isn't capable of that, and that's probably why Apple doesn't allow AirDrop on it. They don't want your iPad to lose its network connectivity while AirDropping files to someone else.

So Apple's reasons probably aren't just to "make users upgrade." And, BTW, the article linked above's speculations on the uses of the new wifi chip proved prescient.
