In the weather app tapping on the temperature reveals more details...

Also when you get to app switcher from an app you can close the very app you were in... Something which wasn't possible before...

I'm not an iOS 7 hater, I've publicly praised it here since installing the beta and spoken out against those moaning every five minutes. However tonight is the first time since Monday night I've used my iPad with iOS 6 installed, and iOS 6 is far more ... "professional" looking, for lack of a better word.

7 reminds me a little of one of those Cydia themes that folk would post that would be shot down.

iOS 6 obviously has has a lot of refinement over the years. iOS 7 is basically brand new, designed in 6 months. Perhaps it was a mistake to release so soon when it's clearly a work in progress. Time will tell.

I think the only thing that makes iOS 7 less professional looking is the icons. Luckily i've just read that they are "very much a work in progress". Other than that all of the apps look much more unified and professional.

To the last bloke, this is the kind of constructive reply you should be aiming for. Not some piss poor attempt at comedy club sarcasm.

Agreed. I was simply posting for the first time back on iOS 6, via my iPad.

Then Mr Huffy up there spat the dummy.

How do you know it was designed in 6 months? As an example, Apple were compiling x86 Mac code for many years - they just chose to tell people many years later. There is no logic in assuming this is the result of only six months work - people can work on multiple projects at once you know? :)

Yes it's a work in progress - that is what "Beta" means...

I clearly remember at keynote presentation, they said airdrop is for products with latest wifi modules. However when I looked up specs of ipad3&ipad4 and went to gsmarena for detailed info. It turns out both ipad3 and ipad4 have dual band support, a/b/g/n capability for wifi module.

So not supporting airdrop on ipad3 due to the wifi module is just nonsense. They just want users to upgrade.

iPad 3 users hurt again....

iPad 3 does not have WiFi Direct, a prerequisite for airdrop to function

Go straight to voicemail like how your phone is off.

Can anyone else confirm this behaviour ?

Because Ive was only put in control of Human Interfaces at Apple in October last year... (Giving them 8 months to come up with iOS 7's design)

I don't know. I'm just going off the earlier rumors that said this was a complete gut - that basically anything being worked on under Forstall was scrapped. Maybe that wasn't the case with certain functionality but it certainly appears to be the case with the UI.

He may have been put in control then, but noone knows how long he has been consulted about the UI - noone apart from their internal teams.

Just found this cool dynamic animation for when you slide for the camera on the lock screen. (Edit: Same with notification center, but not as prominent)

The faster/harder you swipe downward the bigger the bounce is. Nice attention to detail :apple:.

(Sorry about the bad video quality, I only had my iPad Mini with me)

Links and quotes mean nothing; noone knows for sure. Does it even matter? :)

The people in this forum feed off of rumors. Maybe it'll get them to pipe down all their hatred towards iOS 7 at least a little bit.

Who am I kidding? If you hate iOS 7 now you're going to whine and complain all the way up until the release then say "Hey this isn't bad. Why didn't Apple do this 6 years ago?!?!?!?"

Sweet!

That's why Apple has patents, and is why they justifiably get annoyed when "people" ;) rip their hard work off.

They're probably referring to the executive shake up from late last year where Forestall was outed. Just a guess but some rapid changes to the interface may have started around then when Ive was put in charge of iOS design as well as hardware.

I'm thinking though that we are seeing more than 6 months of work since things like the APIs would have been under continuous development since possibly before the last release etc but no one but Apple can know for sure.

iOS 7 drains my battery a lot faster than 6.
Time since last full charge:
Usuage : 4 hours, 57 Minutes
Standby: 7 hours, 21 Minutes

only 3% left. hmmm not too bad though.

Also, has anybody noticed that all the iPhones on the apple iOS 7 page are all white. whats wrong with black?

white on white on white

as opposed to jayz/kanye song ;)

I don't understand why Apple didn't make FaceTime Audio the default to take precedent over regular cell calls. The way it should be like how iMessages takes precedent over text messages.

Phone numbers are now unified with Apple ID's so FaceTime Audio SHOULD take precedent.

Reteaching how to better place calls to parents is tough especially when FaceTime Audio is so much better quality and free long distance!
