My apps open at the same speed too, but when I have a folder on the dock, there is no "folder opening" animation like there is when it is off of the dock.

Yeah! I thought that was kind of odd. I upgraded from iOS 6. What about you?

I did a restore.

Ummm...no it wasn't/isn't.

Match DOWNLOADS the full song in mobile/iPad devices.

Only streams on computer version of iTunes. I doubt that has changed in iOS7, but I was going to wait until the official release notes come out in a few months to verify as it hasn't affected me to much in iOS6.

i don't understand the big deal. it caches the song so when you want to play it again, it doesn't have to stream/re-download. if you feel like the cache is growing too large in size, you can always delete it in settings. it's the way google music works, and it makes sense.

Are there any bugs in the beta? And anyone know how long Apple usually takes to release the next versions?

Ya, looks like most of the music apps do this (Amazon's player does as well).

My question would be, what is the difference between the cache and clicking the icloud button to download the song?

I thought the dock was supposed to be translucent not bold? And I miss the tap to tweet and tap to post in notification center.

The dock is something I hope to see change to more translucent as the betas roll out. I realize this is a beta 1, so things are going to be revised and updated as we go.

I'm hopeful one of those revisions is to bring back the tap to tweet and post in the NC. That was one of my favorite things about iOS 6 and I'm hoping they're just left out in the early betas.

Has this been there in Siri before? When I'd say "Launch Clock", it asks me which clock app I'd like to launch.

I've been looking around but how have the sounds for iOS 7 changed?

Like the slide to unlock click from previous gens... is that still around?

I don't really get the point of the 'missed' section in NC. Can someone explain it to me.

It appears I was somewhat mistaken - I apologize.

I guess it caches the song for listening later. Even though the iCloud download button is still there I was able to play it with Airplane mode enabled. Which leaves me somewhat confused on the difference between the app cache and the actual downloads of the song (is the cache temporary?).

Again, apologies.

iTunes Match does stream on iPhone. Just click where the artist/title appear in the list (anywhere to the left of the cloud icon). It plays without downloading. You can check it by playing another song and going back and looking at the previous song...cloud icon is still there.

EDIT: well...my storage IS going down with each play, but it's not 'downloaded'. someone clear this up

As with any beta or even finished piece of software there are bugs. This is the first beta so there are plenty. There is a thread dedicated to bugs here and Apple's beta update schedule varies but you can get an idea from the chart here

It seems a bit redundant, however, my guess is that if you receive a lot of notifications you would appreciate it a little bit more.

For instance, say you get notifications from Messages, Phone, ESPN, WhatsApp, eBay, Mail, (or any other app that sends out notifications) and you only want to see what calls you missed while you were away from your phone. Instead of scrolling through the list of notifications you can just hit the "missed" tab.

However, I'm kind of right there with you. They group notifications by App so it isn't too hard to just see what calls you missed while you were away from your phone.

I miss it too, mainly twitter. But, it did leave a bit to be desired. I would find myself composing a tweet but then would be interrupted, accidentally navigate away from what I was composing, or even forget how to spell a word, and I would lose it.

Also, it didn't always autocomplete one of my followers or friends when mentioning them in a tweet and also didn't give suggestions on hashtags.

I often finding myself going back to the twitter app when performing these functions.

For those with battery issues: don't forget to deactivate the auto app updates over cellular. If you have a lousy data connection quality, that'll kill your battery.

I just noted that the notification badges are on an independent 'layer', that is they are affected by the parallax effect. Nice little detail :)

Apologies not needed....it doesn't cache (to me, that means it is somehow "temporary.")

"Mobile" devices fully download the song if you play it and it must be manually deleted if you don't want it in there anymore.

I don't do "random play" on my iPhone due to this and have just set up playlists or only play the "top rated" playlist.

:)

I think it updates the cloud icon later...not sure why. Was wondering if that was fixed in iOS7.

It does go away eventually.

Then can you explain to me why the iCloud download icon is even there? When you click it, it downloads the song - is this simply so you can DL songs without listening to them?

Ok, say I click on a song, it plays but doesn't 'download' to my phone (because the cloud icon will still be there). How do I free up that space on my phone's harddrive if I'm not able to swipe and delete it?

Yesterday I played songs this way, icons are still there today. They should really allow streaming :\

Can someone explain the new multitasking to me? It has an app icon AND a preview screen? Are they both the same thing?

Also under missed calls. Im used to using that as my phone book when I need to call someone. Before I would just hit the arrow next to their name to pull up the alternate numbers. Now there is an "i" next to it, but it appears you have to hold it down to get it to work? Anyone know what the point of that is?
