I personally think the arrow for the "slide to unlock" needs to be removed. It feels so damn out of place! We have all owned iPhones long enough to know to slide it

unfortunately for us we're a captive audience. apple needs to worry more about new converts to smartphones and other systems. thats where they get their boost in marketshare which they desperately need.

and while the arrow might not be necessary for us seasoned users, the previous beta where it said slide to unlock, and the arrow for control centre was right below it was definitely confusing. i've been on ios devices since ios 2 and a couple of times even i inadvertently swiped up!

I guess what I meant to say was that it's generally just a poor design. Looking at it is just an eye sore. If they can integrate the arrow properly in a better designed manner then I would have no problem with it.

I turned auto-updates off as i like to do it myself, and I check for updates a few times a day. I'm quite anal like that!

I thought that myself but I hate turning features off! Now I've replaced checking for updates with checking notification centre to see if any have been updated then off I go to see what new features there are...best of both worlds!

We are a strange bunch aint we?!

Indeed we are.

I agree, but if you could slide in either direction, you wouldn't even need the arrows.

I feel this way also about the vertical Safari tabs list. Why swipe left only to throw out? Unlock as well as Safari tabs, should swipe in either direction...

----------

Also, notifications shown on lock screen should swipe in either direction.

Obviously this is still a beta but whats your guy's thoughts on running this a daily driver as I only have my main iphone 5?? stable enough or not worth the risk yet?

Oh man... What a usability step backwards on the notification front. You used to be able to pull down on a notification to bring down Notification Center. Now you can only tap on the notification, or push it up and away and THEN pull down NC. :(

I have been using it as my daily driver for all the betas, but I also didn't experience as many bugs as others have. Imo this is by far the most stable version though.

Beta 4 was the only one I installed but it seems really damn stable! A little less battery life than 6.1.4 but I have also been using it a lot today so that could be it.

I agree

Anyone else notice that the music player finds pictures of artists it recognizes and assigns that picture to each artist under "artists"

Spotify

Latest Spotify (0.7.2) update fixes volume crash issue :) Not a beta 4 bug fix but worth a mention

good deal! ill gonna be jumping on the ios 7 band wagon if apple ever gets the rest of their site up Jesus I'm getting antsy

Has anyone else had these issues with Beta 4? At times when I open the phone app, the menu at the bottom is cut to half the size. I've also had some issues with orientation that I never had with Beta 3. For example switching to landscape the carrier, clock and battery information stay in landscape after I turn my phone back to portrait(This has happened twice but I can't recreate it).

When I made my wallpaper white just now (to take advatage of the fact that they fixed the folder tint issue), all my emoji folder labels turned black.

Not going to lie, even though it's a bug, I love this.

So who has a screenshot of the completed upload notification?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

It's not a bug. It's happened in all betas. If it recognizes that your background is light enough (someone made an entire thread dedicated to figuring out what part of the wallpaper had to be how light), it will automatically change the text on the homescreen (so carrier, clock, battery, app and folder names) to black/dark grey (later betas).

It is in fact a cool feature :)

When you're listening to music on the lock screen, one click on the Home button replaces the controls by the clock.
Is this new ?

Not entirely true. You can swipe down from the middle of the notification popup and it pulls down the NC. Might be a bug or a new way to do it.

I don't think that's a bug. The app labels all turn black with lighter wallpapers, and since emoji is just a form of text, wouldn't the same apply?

No, I noticed this in b3 as well.
