I'm always surprised by the number of people who install beta software and then do nothing but complain that it isn't working properly. There's a reason betas aren't released to everyone. They're early, incomplete versions.

Battery drain and lag is always going to occur in the earlier beta builds. Having said that, the lag only lasted a few hours for me, the UI is smooth and snappy on my iPhone 6 Plus, downloading from the app store works fine too, I don't seem to be affected by most of the bugs reported here.

Battery drain is more than usual, though not enough to make me need to revert back.
You know why we complain? Because with every ios, it turned out that beta 1 is on par with the GM.

Playing music in the background definitely uses up more battery than it should; don't remember iOS 8.3 draining this fast while playing music :( On another note, is this considered decent battery life on a first beta? I think I got around 3 1/2 to 4 hours of usage before it dropped to 11%

Me too :( Tried everything I could but it isn't showing up. May be because of location, since Spotlight Suggestions on iOS 8 were also restricted to a handful of countries.

Think so too, if you don't see this in your location in maps.app. You won't see it in spotlight/search either

How did apple work out that you'll get an hour extra of battery life with ios 9? I assume they're doing those tests from the same beta software we're using?

Don't know if this was in iOS8 already, but when you go to Settings - General - TouchID and you put your finger on the sensor the corresponding finger will light up (for example 'Finger 1'). Very nice feature :)

Really curious how Siri is going to know what room I'm in. There doesn't seem to be any calibration settings.

I set a reminder "Remind me to drink when I go into the kitchen", obviously it didn't remind me when I went into the kitchen

Overall, a VERY stable Beta 1. I've been doing betas since iOS 5 and I think this is the most stable so far... the only issue that I'm currently experiencing is horrendous battery life, but that could have been because I was downloading all of my apps again and all that. I'm charging my device now and will spend a day or two to confirm.

Also finding it to be a very stable beta on my 6+. Every single one of my 120-odd apps works, which is a first. And even WhatsApp works right off the bat in a first beta, which is also a first, i think.

Like Applefan91, the only issue I'm currently experiencing is a faster battery drain compared to 8.3, which is to be expected. But something weird happened when I updated - ios9 installed over my 8.3 leaving all apps and settings intact. No downloads or restore needed. Anyone else see this?
