OK, don't connect your iPhone to a Hotspot network (which functions as a Wi-Fi network) and tell me if it works.
Why? It works, and has for over a year - you're opting to selectively exclude an option that works, by design. It doesn't cost me anything. You're picking nits, and I need to find my nit swatter now.

BAM. Got it.

Has anyone else ran into a bug where you try to turn the screen on and you get nothing but a black screen but the phone appears to be responsive because when pressing the lock button again it will make the lock sound as if it was on? I've found the only solution to this is a hard reset.

Has this happened to anyone else? On an iPhone 6 plus iOS 9 beta 3 OTA download.

Except that's what the functionality I'm talking about is.

Continuity over Cellular means I can leave my iPhone at home, or in my pocket connected to nothing but LTE, and still receive my phone calls on my Mac. I no longer am required to be connected to the same network. A Wi-Fi Hotspot recognizes both devices as on the same network, so it's no different than if my Mac/iPhone/iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi router. Theoretically you could use handoff without having to enable a hotspot of any kind, and save yourself the time.

has anyone else had a problem with the app store requiring you to type in your email and password EVERY time you do anything? it's doing it to me for updates/downloading apps I already own/free apps as well as paid apps and it's incredibly annoying

Yes, just had this. Sign out of your iTunes account from the settings page, reboot the phone and sign back in. See if that helps.

Another workaround is doing so using desktop iTunes. I only use iOS AppStore to update installed apps, not purchasing new apps.

I've been using B3 since shortly after release and I'm still seeing a blank search page. Is there a switch somewhere that needs to be flipped for me to see Proactive?

I had to go back to 8.4. Too many bugs. Siri stopped making sounds. The status bar flashing on and off. Sluggish performance. Rotation issues... I know it's beta :) but the thing that really bugs me is the sanfrancisco font. It's just doesn't feel right. I may stay on iOS 8 as long as I can just because of that font! Or wait till there is a jailbreak to go back to Helvetica!

Ya, I'm thinking of going back to 8.4 and jailbreaking myself.

After every beta release, I always wipe one of my extra devices and try to restore from iCloud Backup. Beta 3 downloaded none of the user app data from the backup afterwards, so I put Beta 2 back on the device and tried. App data came back normally on Beta 2, so that's a major issue in this newer beta.

So not only iCloud backup, but also iTunes backup is not working correctly in this beta? :(

Ohh boy. Apparently public beta *might* hit tomorrow so if I can get my hands on that, I'm a little anxious to see what I'm getting myself into. I was sort of hoping by beta 3 things would be better, but these comments suggest otherwise. How does Apple make a new release with "Foundation" and "Performance" in mind, but everything is still broken this late into things? Usually things are smoothing out quite a lot by now, not staying the same or going downhill...

Maybe it's because they had to work hard to incorporate News and Apple Music? So after this to the end, the real bug-squashing, performance-enhancing, stability-improving magic will happen :)

Lower left corner is used for handoff. The music app is there because either their watch, iPad, or Mac was running the Music app at that time.
My phone was plugged into my car and connected via Bluetooth while playing music. What was interesting was seeing two Music apps open in the App Switcher, one of which said I was connected to headphones. I wish I would've screenshot that.

But it's basically Handoff once it saw that I was connected via Bluetooth to my car stereo.

I only did iCloud backups here, I don't know if iTunes backup has any problems. Unless you're saying this because you've had issues with iTunes.

I tried using music app to play music on iPad, but no icon appear. Have you subscribed Apple music trial? If so, I think that could make sense.
