Not sure if this has been posted, but I don't know what happened to the phone since a couple of days ago battery stats only shows the time phone has been used, see the screenshot. NOt sure what to do. I restored as new, not backup loaded and still the same. NO matter how long I use the phone, it won't show stats. Any suggestions?

Quality experience is a system reboot.
And yes, uninstalling crappy notifications and having an excessive number of apps in the background does affect performance.
You believe in unicorns as well.

You're funny. I have absolutely NO third party apps installed on my iPhone, yet I'm experiencing the same lag everyone here is talking about. It has nothing to do with how many apps I have installed. Also, I only have notifications for text messages, phone, calendar and reminders.

It was always like that for me. I have to use the phone for at least 30 mins for the detailed stats to show up.

I installed beta 5 today (had 9.0.2 before that) and noticed something odd.
When I connected my headphones to my iphone and opened app switcher and navigated between apps then I could hear an electric buzz during the animations (opening app switcher, switching to an app from the app switcher). It doesn't make this sound when opening an app from the home screen or when closing an app with home button.
It's really faint but it's there.
Anybody else hearing that?

I had never seen that before. It has always showed up the stats. I have used the phone for more than 30 minutes and still doesn't show the stats. Do you have to use it more than 30 minutes everyday? Not sure what else to do.

I need a favor for people with iphone 5s's, if you have beta 5, can you tell me if there is lag: on CC, rotating the keyboard, the message bubbles, music app, swiping through pages. I'd really appreciate it, thank you.

cuz some apps do continue to run in the background. Facebook i am looking at you. Unless i can see what is still running i will keep on shutting them down

You can also shut off background refresh for those apps which prevents them from getting CPU time in the background.

I know this is sort of off topic but I just came here to say to all the people complaining about stuttering/dropped frames.. you guys are ridiculous. My work just gave me a Samsung Galaxy S6 and I couldn't believe the stuttering/lag on it out of the box even after it updated. I couldn't imagine any of you owning the Samsung, you would probably claw your eyes out with the amount of stuttering/lag on it compared to how smooth beta 5 is. If you think the iPhone is struggling with beta 5 you need to re-evaluate the other options out there. I can't imagine any of you not coming back to the iPhone after checking out how the other "high end" devices perform.

edit: I have a 6S so I'm not sure about performance on the older iPhones but I've seen some people complaining about frame drops on the 6S as well.

Anyone getting lag with Whatsapp? I am getting lag when navigating through menus and typing messages.

I get occasional UI stutter on my 6S+. Its not bad and am not complaining because it is beta but hopefully it will be resolved with the final

Smooth on 6s. I understand the frustration for others, but it is a beta and I am sure they will have things optimized by public release.

This is said a lot on here, and it was even said during the 9.0 betas… but guess what? It was exactly the same when it came out, so saying it's a beta doesn't mean anything.

The whole point of a beta is to submit bug reports. Complaining here is not considered a bug report.

I mean I used there's that possibility, but there's more against it than for it. I also don't think that General is the most used section overall--there are plenty of options there, but I don't think many typical users often use it that much.

Agreed. And even if that was the reason I believe apple would move general up the list and not make the app open further down.

When I had iOS 9 on my iPhone 6, I noticed that snapchat videos would stutter.
I'm not talking about these 'micro-stutter' that were nitpicking over, but I'm talking about serious frame drops where the video wouldnt move for a half second to a second before moving again.

Can anyone test whether this is fixed on ios 9.1?
I rolled back to 8.4.1 and it was all good for me now.

Which is one the reason I don't use a samsung phone. I don't care what other phones do. I care what my phone did before and after an update. If it always lagged no one would be complaining.

CC frame drops are still there, but much better in this beta. On the lock screen it's the worst.

Rotating keyboard is smooth in messages. Kinda ok in mail and terrible in safari.

Message bubbles frame drops have been fixed.

Music app is smooth.

I still miss 8.4, but this is the best version of iOS 9 that I have ran so far.

I'm still seeing scrolling stutter here and there, it's strange as its not constant ... it's utterly random. Sometimes the scrolling is smooth, sometimes it's very stuttery. One of the worst experiences for stutter, out with Recents, Settings, Safari, and Mail are the Twitter and TripAdvisor apps. The TripAdvisor app has become unusable, the scrolling is abysmal.

I guess nobody has seen this before. I think I might have a defective phone.

I've shut off background refresh for Facebook but it still does things in the background. It's consistent my top 3 battery-draining app. (It also hijacks the volume control but that's another topic for another thread. )
Maybe I need to turn off the contacts linking to Facebook as well.

No lag on my iPhone 5s. Super smooth. Only issue I had was my battery indicator showed 40% then I plugged it in and it showed 47

I don't know, I thought it was a lot better than the 8.0 beta's and final. Still a long way to go, but I haven't had many issues with 9.0 or any of the subsequent beta's. Agreed though, everything should be filed as a bug report.
