9.1 will probably come with iPad Pro in December.
Rest assured you can install the profile on 6s and start from there.
Will you be able to restore when you first get the phone, or will you have to wait until the new 6S has 6.1 downloaded, and then restore from backup?

what does one do if it refuses to sync apps? they r all just greyed out like this on the springboard and itunes doesnt indicate that its doing anything. it just sits there saying "waiting for objects to copy" for the last half hour. ideas?

(btw is that a new look of unsynched apps? looks almost like comic artworks)

Open the App Store and you should see a cloud icon under updates>purchases for those apps that haven't restored for whatever reason. This has happened to me on every single beta restore. And yes, that new design for apps waiting to download was incorporated in the 9 betas...I kinda like it!

I cannot send and receive MMS anymore. I've done network settings reset and re-entered all the necessary mobile data settings, but no luck. I always get “Not Delievered” notification. Anyone else experiencing this in iOS 9.1?

9.1 runs just as fast as 9.0 GM for me on my iPhone 6. Which is pretty fast.

But noticed more space is being used. iOS 9 PB 3 I had 8.9gb left, iOS 9.0 GM I had 8.9gb left, updated to iOS 9.1 PB 1 and it dropped to 7.4gb left of storage.

Honestly never tried it on 8.4.1 as far as I can remember, but trying it now doesn't seem bad at all. It's mess if you have the keyboard up though.

Oh yeah that's what I mean on the pull down spotlight search, not the one on the left homescreen. Was hoping if they fixed that lag then the rest of the animations on the Plus would be improved.

Is it just me or the display is a bit more vibrant now? I updated from iOS 9.0's newest Public Beta.
(Maybe a tweaked brightness setting/curve, even for people who updated instead of restored?)

I went straight from 9.0b5 to 9.1b1 (didn't load the GM). Today in my car (2010 Prius) I noticed the Bluetooth interaction between the car and my iPhone 6 is MUCH smoother. Ever since I can remember (iOS7?) it used to go into a calling screen on my cars dash screen. It would work okay it was just slow and clunky. Today when I used Siri it responded quickly and I didn't get the old calling screen. Really like 9.1b1 so far.
