Yeah, Spotlight seems to have a stutter right at the start when you pull down and from then on its smooth. This isn't unique behaviour to iOS 9 though, I remember my iPad 4 and iPad Air 1 doing the exact same stutter on first activation of Spotlight and then it too cleared up on repeated use.

Exactly the same thing here.

Every year we keep on posting bugs bugs and bugs for every iOS update and by the time it becomes stable Apple gives us another new major iOS update!!
I hate this yearly update cycle.

The masses have experienced iOS 9.0.2 and now 9.1

People like yourself have most likely experienced every single beta release of iOS and instead of being content with the final version of iOS 9 (9.2 or whatever) you will proceed to most likely install iOS 10 Beta 1 through 5 also.

It's a never ending beta experience for some people.

Well it appears you are right guys, every thing is much better now that it has been a good couple minutes after upgrading! Although it's nowhere near PERFECTLY smooth!

No he's correct. iOS 8 matured at 8.4.1 and was incredibly stable, as was iOS 7.1.2 before it. Both of these versions of iOS took the best part of a year to reach such stability and fluidity and then they were replaced by very poor .0 versions of iOS 8 and 9. So he's spot on, Apple did take a year to get iOS to a stable state only to replace it with a new .0 build and the cycle started again. Thankfully this year Apple seem to be firing out new build after new build and really focusing on performance and improvements to get iOS 9 to a stable and fluid state far quicker than both iOS 7 and 8 did.

It's only been seeded to developers though, unless I'm mistaken.

If you're on public beta 1 on iOS 9.2, delete the profile and reboot your device. Go to Software Update and 9.2 beta 2 will show. The public build and developer builds are now identical. Yes it's been seeded to developers via the Dev site (to download the ipsw) but by removing the public beta profile you get access to the developer build via OTA update, just like someone with the developer build of beta 1 installed would get.

I done this on both my 6 and Air 2. Worked fine.

Oh cool! I'll try that then! I heard about that but I guess I never fully understood what was going on.

On beta 2 now with iPad Air 2 (thanks for the delete beta profile tip folks).

There's a major bug that has been carried over from beta 1. When you have multiple apps open and select the leftmost app in the app switcher, it appears cut off and blurry for a second or two before the app UI reloads. Anyone else seeing this?

What are you guys seeing that is better in this build than in beta-1?
If you read the posts on this page and the previous page you'll read plenty of views, as well as see a video done by myself of beta 2 running on the Air 2 (if that is of interest to you).

Just tried it and yep, I'm noticing that. Tap on the further most left app (the one that's blurred at the left edge of the screen) and it does this odd glitch where 3/4 of the home screen wallpaper shows before it flickers and then reloads the app in question. I'll file a report now.

Yep same here. I reported it to Apple, and they asked me to provide more details today.

Can I just say that this thread has been really enjoyable tonight and quite productive. I've really enjoyed the interaction between scjr, Cakefish, and Lancer. This is possibly the most enjoyable, and worthwhile, I've seen this thread be since it started. No complaints about lag, but genuine interest in checking bugs, changes, and submitting reports via the Feedback app.

I already reported it on beta 1, but I'll do it again. More reports the merrier!

Good to hear they are taking an interest in this bug.
