NumberSync is causing issues with reliably sending SMS messages using AT&T. I had issues with it so I had to call AT&T to remove it from my profile. Everything else I tried and the first AT&T representative tried failed to fix it. AT&T states it's an Apple issue and supposably they are working on it.

Older devices (mini 2 and 5s) get quite a bit improvement over beta 1. I think they'll focus on either spotlight and control center on next update.
If you're comparing it vs previous iOS 9, then basically everything is an improvement, since it introduced this ****.

Do it vs 8.4.1 instead. We're still not there yet, so let's not lower the expectations so soon.

Looking at the overall picture it's amazing how perfect 8.4.1 was compared to 9.Its like comparing Windows 7 to Windows vista

You're right, but with every beta iOS 9 gets a little bit better. It wouldn't be fair to ignore that upward trend.

People have been wishing this since 9.0

I know, I agree iOS 9 PITA on the earlier version. iOS 9.1 didn't bring any performance improvement in my experience. I even sell my Air because of the horrible experience and stutter.

At least every beta on 9.2 really brings improvement—one area at a time. Beta 1 makes my mini retina app switcher smoother, while beta 2 almost reach 60FPS on app switcher all the time. Scrolling still stutters, but better. I believe control center and spotlight will be fixed on 9.2 GM.

I'm quite pleased with the frequent updates. iOS 7 didn't even make it to 7.2, and with iOS 9 we're already there. Ofcourse, version numbering doesn't have to say much, but we're getting almost weekly refinements ever since iOS 9.0 beta 1 was launched. That's a good thing. Let's hope Apple doesn't stop until iOS 9 is buttery smooth again.

I think iOS 9.1 was mainly a release for merging iPad Pro and Apple TV features into the main branch. They didn't address performance at all.

I'm now getting Apple Verification notice a couple times a day to put in my Apple ID password.
Same here. It told me that iCloud session expired. Then it also asked me to re-login into iTunes 2-3 times.

My iCloud music started downloading to my phone automatically (and filled up my storage) and I can't stop it. I deleted all the music off my phone, but then the downloading starts again. I don't see where to not show Cloud music and I can't find where to stop it from downloading. Has anyone seen this?

Automatic downloads in settings?

In general 9.2b2 feels pretty solid on my 6s+. However, it still has one major bug that started in 9.2b1. Our family turns restrictions on for web adult content. With restrictions enabled, Safari wigs out and gives a "problem occurred" on almost every page (including macrumors.com) and goes blank. Made much of my normal usage impossible until I turned restrictions back off.

The beta bug bit me again....currently on a 128GB SG 6S this week. So far so good. No lag that I can see. Will have to report back in a few days with any updates I can see.

Stutter and drops
Yup mine does that too with the control center... As for the stuttery airdrop animation, mine did that too in 8.4.1. No biggie.

Hmm. Does anybody ever get an awkward uncomfortable sinking feeling in their gut when they realize that they are taking the time to type in an Internet forum to complain about their phone dropping a few frames per second once and awhile? Do you ever take a second and look at yourself and see how absolutely ridiculous it is and what a waste of time it is? I'm getting that same feeling as I'm typing this response! I admit I used to be super hyper critical of things like this but I'm coming to a place in my life where these OCD tendencies are really starting to annoy me and seeing other people suffer with this is making easier for me to not be so crazy about the little things. I know Apple is/used to be all about the little details and things but these frame drops just aren't that big of deal and they will maybe get more cleaned up as more releases are made. Just chill out and enjoy your phone!

"Could you just give it a second!?! It's going to space!"

I'm still getting the iCloud popup asking me for my password. Not as much as beta 1 though. Also when buying an in-app purchase I've needed to apply my finger twice before confirming to buy.

Stutter and drops

Having the same issue on my 6S Plus but it only happens if I'm not on the Home Screen which is ridiculous... I can't understand why Apple can't get this ironed out? You'd think the A9 + PowerVR GT7600 would be more than capable of rendering the UI but with the **** optimization that Apple is doing it looks like the 6S line is underpowered when it really isn't.

Apple contacted me about the iCloud bug and asked for additional logging. He said they are actively working this issue.
