I can't "long press" on any link as it freezes immediately. It started to me after clicking on a link on Instagram, so I agree it seems the bug might "start" after opening a link from an external app

Edit: after reading lots of posts it just happened to me also since today, so it's not related with an external link but just happened the same day as most people. It seems a very strange bug... And very annoying

Agreed but its the middle of the Easter break, I imagine nothing will be done. Is tomorrow a holiday in the US?

I can't believe a company the size of Apple has no 24/7 teams (for security issues for example).
If they start to work on this on Tuesday... When do we expect the Bugfix to arrive? In 14days?? Inacceptable.

I think they have off shore teams in India / China for Software Development too?

I agree. Pay me half the money that they get and I'll help sort it out. I might be full of Easter chocolate but I can still work.

Official responce from Apple Support to me was to close the Javascript as a work around solution. They also said that, they're aware of the situation and working on it.

Also there was a phone call planned from a "Senior Advisor" so they can collect some data to assist with the investigation. But I think that they got the number without country code (I live outside of US) so they couldn't reach me and I got an e-mail that said I couldn't be reached.

Apple has off shore teams in customer support for sure. They suggested to one user to uninstall Safari to fix this issue.

Well well I just had a phone call from apple support and I do have say I didn't expect much but still they seem to be unfamiliar with the problem. Although the guys was quite nice he didn't have any knowledge of the iOS system. at the point where he was asking me if I already tried to uninstall Safari the conversation was done for.

Apple needs to fix ASAP. iOS Devices around the world are currently for many users in an unusuable state.

i don't think they'll wait until the end of easter, so many users have problems with safari,(totally unusable) and activating their phone. an emergency development squad can fix that and release a brand new 9.3 this week.

If Apple isn't putting every resource available into fixing this ASAP then I don't even know what to say. A lot of work iPhones and iPads are sitting dormant over this holiday weekend. When they are powered up tomorrow and all of a sudden corporations are flooded with employees whose enterprise devices are freezing and crashing...well it's not going to be pretty.

Apple's enterprise business could really take a hit if this is as widespread as it seems.

Not seeing this issue at all? But my dad just mentioned it too... Are we seriously gonna see another patch?

Please give link for bug report !
Thank you

Apple Responded to me:

I solved the problem by DFU restore to 9.3 followed by restoring iCloud backup from pre-9.3. (Three months old). Voila. No issues except losing three months of stuff

Great and thanks for following up with us. We still don't have a solution at this time but our engineers are working around the clock for a update to fix these issues. In the meantime, for any other devices that you had issues with,we have two workaround options. Restarting the phone may allow links to work, but only temporarily. You can also go into Settings > Safari > Advanced and turn off "Javascript.” That should allow links to work, but some websites may not function properly without Javascript. Apologies for the inconvenience, we'll have a solution as soon as possible.

More than likely they are already working on it, just don't have the fix yet, or at least one that is all ready to go out.

Does anyone have booking.com app installed? After installing this app to check on some reservations I had made on my computer this started happening. Did a bit of searching on the web and found this youtube video showing the same problem. Someone said uninstalling app, clearing safari and rebooting phone worked for him, didn't work for me but its worth a try.

EDIT: This was the ONLY app I installed, no app updates, software updates etc.
(iphone 6 9.0.2)

I am with 6s plus and no such issue at all. I did not experience any such issues with all 9.3 beta / developer preview versions as well.

My problems only started after I installed Tweetbot. I set it to open links in Safari, I clicked a link and the problems started. Tweetbot froze and force quit but since then I can't open any links even though Tweetbot got deleted.
