Funny, my battery life doesn't seem to be improved on my 6 Plus. Still not anywhere near iOS 8.3. Could OTA (Which I installed) vs Fresh Install make a difference? Or could it be temporary indexing (again)?

on 65% over Wifi

Usage: 2 hrs 2 minutes
Standby:3 hrs 45 minutes

Overall springboard performance is much better though. Seem to be more app crashes though.

Is anyone else's app still not updating though?

I decided to testify battery overnight. I charged it up to 100% and went to bed at 11. Woke up at 6am and battery was at 99%.

Definitely an improvement.

Same here. Since then I've used it a bit and had music in the background on my way to work over bluetooth. Now it says 4 hours of use and I'm at 89%. Not sure where it figures on 4 hours.

My battery life issues seem to have been fixed so far. I'm definitely not losing it as fast as I was.

I tried beta 2 on my 5s, I did a clean install, no backup, I waited for that "index" thing to stop, nothing. Right now the iphone 5s works just like an iphone 4s on ios 7.1.2. How do I know? I used a 4s on 7.1.2 for almost 8 months and now with the 5s I noticed the same problems: Control Center lags, general sluggishness around the OS, Notification center works fine, a lag here and there. Everything is the same, it's like using an iphone 4s on ios 7.1.2 with a 4 inch screen.

Battery on my 6 plus is back to normal as much as I can tell. Took off charge at 7.30 and now at 85%. With b1 I'd be at about 55% by now, if not worse.

Also much better on my Air 2. Took it off charge this morning and not touched it. Still at 100%. With b1 it would be drained by end of day even just sitting in my bag.

Beta 2 has fixed the battery life issues on my iPhone 6. Because of that I decided to test Low Power Mode today. I enabled it at 100% and my stats up till now look promising:
- Usage: 1 hr 30 min
- Standby 7 hrs 16 min
- Battery: 78%

My usage was medium to heavy... Damn you "Fallout Shelter" with 1.1 hrs on screen time ;-)

I will see how it looks tonight (Europe). Important to note is that even with Low Power Mode enabled, I didn't notice any disadvantages. Everything including push notifications and overall system performance works as usual.

When testing Sunspider 1.0.2 the results were around 600ms (330ms in normal mode), so the CPU seems to be restricted.

My phone is now cool to the touch and battery life is back to normal if not better. Hooray!

It's odd they restrict the CPU to save battery because if you listen to them talking about energy saving, they say whilst the phone is awake and doing any task there is a certain base level of power being used for it to be awake before you even consider the power to do that task. therefore the quicker it can complete a task the sooner it can go back to sleep. so faster uses less energy overall, even if there is a spike in power.

but perhaps there is a point in the CPU usage where the power required is more than the speed gained

I left my phone off the charger last night and only dropped 2% on Beta 2. This is awesome!

It's definitely not as good as 8.4 on my 6 Plus, but it's a great improvement over beta 1. I let my phone discharge all the way and now charging it to 100%. Will monitor it today for a better idea on how beta 2 in terms of battery.

Looks like they were not kidding when they said iOS 9 gives an additional hour of battery under normal usage! I have 39% left with usage of 9hr 13min. On iOS 8.4 beta 4 it could only manage about 8hr 30mins in total. Really enjoying my time with iOS 9 and this is only beta 2!

"Looks like they were not kidding when they said iOS 9 gives an additional hour of battery under normal usage! I now get 5 hours usage as opposed to the 4 hours I had on beta 1"

Fixed for you......

OTA install for me and battery life is excellent. Currently 98% with 52 minutes of usage and 1 hr 42 minutes of standby. Amazingly good. Yesterday I thought it was much better than beta 1 but not as good as 8.3, but now I'm convinced it is superior to 8.3. iPhone 6.

After a full day of usage, with one of my apps using location services all day, constantly (Moves) this is my result! Battery life is 1000x better!

I'd be interested to see what the stats looks like by using Low Power Mode all day. Even with the prompt that pops up at 80% when charging, I'm still able to go into Low Power at 100%.

Now 97% with over 1 hour of usage and over 2.5 hours of standby.
