I don't think we'll see the public beta today. I feel like iOS 9 is not ready for public usage, unless they've ironed out a lot of bugs in beta 3.

I agree.
While I do like what is coming in iOS9, it is still far from ready for prime-time. Or even public beta...

I really hope you are right! Hoping for an update for Watch OS as well. Battery life has been really bad (yes I know its developer, I'm not mad, just would like an improvement :) ) and it lags a lot.

I really doubt there will be a public beta today. I think that will only come after all of the features are present for at least one developer build. Currently, things like the News app are stuff missing and such, so I just don't see them shipping a public beta.

That being said, as a developer with only one device who also happens to enjoy Apple Music, I'm glad today's (presumed) release will include Apple Music!

Hey, what about us bastards whose week starts on Sunday? Should we be more concerned/offended that Tuesday is more middle of the week than early in the week?

Can someone get Eddy's feedback on this? Oh never mind, I'll call him myself.

Beta 2 was pretty stable. The only things that get in the way of day to day usage for me were:
1) The keyboard would sometimes get messed up and require a force quit of whatever app was using it when it messed up.
2) Sometimes when highlighting text an app would freeze up. The Mail and the eBay app is a good example of this. Annoying but you could always force quit and start again.

Anyway, these seem like things that could likely get fixed in a few weeks. Besides that, the beta is totally usable, and seems to be quite efficient with battery usage actually, and I think Apple could be ready for the public beta by now.
