I'm sorry if it's been discussed already, as I can't find a way to search in the thread. My Siri (on PB3) still doesn't play the Listening sound, even though it's said that it should. Also, when I ask Siri for information on anything, and not an action, it will display the information for a few seconds, then close back to the lock screen, making it darn hard to use for many things (including things like finding people via Find My Friends, as it closes before a location is pinpointed.)

If by "listening sound" you mean the two dings or whatever. That's been taken out if you use the home button to activate (to be less obtrusive to people while out in public.) It only plays the sound if you use headphones/Bluetooth speakers or "hey Siri".

As for it quickly closing on you. No clue on thy as I've never seen that happen for me.

The Siri sound has been gone for several betas already...likely intentional.

I wasn't getting any of the proactive notifications when connected to Bluetooth until I repaired each device

For some reason my volume slider jumps a little when it's towards max volume. Very annoying. I have no sound limit too.

There are two issues remaining with Apple Music/iCloud Music Library:
  1. Apple Music/iCloud Music Library will sometimes play an original track even if the one choosed to play is a remix. I did disable and re-enable the feature(s) and let iTunes finish syncing. While this happened Apple Music/iCloud Music Library has been disabled on all other devices associated with the same Apple ID! E.g.:
    • Chosen: "Florence + The Machine - You''ve Got The Love (XXX Remix)"
    • Actually played: "Florence + The Machine - You''ve Got The Love (Original)" with displaying the details of the chosen remix showing the original cover.
  2. If Apple Music/iCloud Music Library is enabled and there's no track downloaded locally on my iPhone the music app won't let me choose a track to play (greyed out). Using the volume up/down-multimedia-buttons on my steering wheel starts a random track anyways using cellular data!
    • Scenario: Sitting in my VW Golf having paired my iPhone 6 running iOS 9 PB 3 via Bluetooth with my RNS 510.
    • iPhone Settings: Don't use cellular data to play Apple Music/iCloud Music Library-content.
Anybody can confirm this behavior having workarounds/bugfixes?

Kind regards!

I use my iPad daily, every evening at least and see this message about once a week recently. Its been around since touch ID but it has not appeared until recently. In less than 48 hours.

Maybe tomorrow is beta 6 day

I wouldn't hold my breath for a 6th beta. Its always possible, but closer we get to September 9th, it becomes more and more unlikely. There is always a 3-4 week gap between the last beta and the GM being released the day of the event.

Well then the GM better be significantly better than beta 5. because iOS 9 at its current state is a POS that doesn't live up to apple's promise of enhanced performance and battery life.

Craig Federighi should stop making pointless changes to iOS and OS X and start optimizing performance.

Maybe for you, but Beta 5 is significantly better than 8.4 was for my on my iPhone 6 and a little bit better than 8.4 on my iPad 2. I have no issues with performance or battery on my iPhone 6. I can get about 8-9 hours of usage.

The app switcher and control centre is ridiculously laggy on mu 6 plus. My iPad air still experiences weird glitches everywhere.

Tell me again what the point of the new app switcher is? How is it any easier to use or better than the previous one?

I have no issues with the new app switcher. I prefer it over the older one because you can see more at any given time and its easier to swipe through open apps. Thats my opinion at least.

The new app switcher is more ergonomic for right handed users (which is probably the majority.) Using your right thumb to swipe right to scroll through allows you to see more of what's next in the list of cards. (Old switcher your thumb blocked your view.)

Everything else functions exactly the same and just looks different.

My iPhone 6 Plus running beta 5 today randomly asked me to choose a new 4-digit PIN (previously had a 6-digit PIN since beta 1). Has anyone else experienced this?

THIS IS A BETA

It contains debugging code and all sorts of other gubbins that feedback to Apple thus taking up battery and smoothness. These are never addressed until right at the end.

The GM needs to be ready so they can start loading on the new devices hence the bigger window between last beta and GM. We may see a beta 6 but it won't have all the battery and slugginess removed. It will be bug fixes to the current beta 5.

I'm unsure if it has already been mentioned but I've been following the thread since it started and haven't noticed it myself.

New feature (as far as I'm aware).

In Messages, if there's a huge message, it is condensed and an arrow is added to the bottom right. Tapping the message opens up another pane showing all of the text.
