I have a problem too.
I'm using the Adguard content blocker on my iPad and iPhone and when going to the Daily Mail website, I get to see a huge banner at the top of the page. These are the filters that are active:
* English filter
* Spyware filter
* Social media filter
* Dutch filter
* Filter for mobile ads
* Safari filter
* Adblock Warning Removal List
* Malware Domains
* Prebake
* Spam 404
* Anti-Adblock Killer Reek

On another site, the videos won't load. Also both on the iPad and iPhone: here.

On my Mac with the same filters enabled (Adguard extension), I don't get to see the banner and the videos are playing perfectly.

What can be the cause?

The difference is that they use Flash on Mac. I've just checked it on ipad and video from some random news plays good. I guess the problem is with live video only?

Do you mean the "Get the MailOnline App" banner?

I have no flash installed, is that why they don't work? Is there a possibility to force flash videos to be played as html videos?

Yes, it's that banner that I don't want to see.

You can't use Flash on iOS. It's just why the website behaves differently on iOS and Mac, I am not suggesting to use flash:).

Yes, it's that banner that I don't want to see.

We don't yet have an "annoyances" filter so all such filters are stored in the "Experimental" filter. Turn it on and that banner is gone (however the empty place is still there, no easy way to remove it).
[doublepost=1462451791][/doublepost]@Tomovich btw, if you're on beta version, you can try to block it manually.

Tap on Adguard icon in Safari, choose "Block element on a web page", wait a sec then tap on the banner and click on "AG" icon to block it.

avatar-adg, I only see now that the link to the sporza site I linked to doesn't work. The video I got to see was some sort of Facebook video that looked like an image on my iOS devices. I don't think it was live video.

Any idea when the experimental filter will be "finished"?

I have a problem with updating the filters in adguard. When I check for filter updates it gives an error message saying that I should clean user defined rules and whitelist, but both have always been empty.

It also suggests to change filters.

What's the problem? Using newest regular iOS version on iPhone se.

This happened to me also. I exited the app, swiped it to remove it from the multitask list, then reopened the app and it worked fine.

Thanks, but in my case that didn't work. Same error message still.
Try this:
1. Exit the app
2. Remove the app from the multitasking list
3. Press and Ho ld the power button until the Power Off dialog appears
4. While in that dialog, press and hold the home button until that power off dialog disappears
5. Reopen the app and see if the error message is gone

This works for me every time an app misbehaves

That sequence clears the memory so may be that's why it helps

Try this:
1. Exit the app
2. Remove the app from the multitasking list

4. While in that dialog, press and hold the home button until that power off dialog disappears

That did not fix it, I still get the error message.

I'm very late to the party, had iOS for quite some time and just got interested in content blockers today; right off the bat i got ABP AdBlock Plus and Opera VPN that was just announced today; using Opera just for content blockers is overkill. They both did a meh job.

Just got Adguard that some people recommended in another thread and it does a better job than the other 2. Haven't used it for more than the 3 sites i used most so far but it does the job perfectly. People also recommended 1Blocker a lot too.

Purify and Crystal are on my scope due to a lot of people recommending it and this thread. Just FYI Purify is now $1.99 and Crystal is now at $0.99.

There was another thread that people posted benchmarks. Would love to see these 4, the 2 free and the 2 paid for ones go head to head in performance. Aka how fast they run and battery drain over a set of websites.

If anyone has that data to share would definitely appreciate it. Or if anyone willing to try to benchmark the latest versions.

Which filters do you use?
[doublepost=1462816875][/doublepost]@cola79
Two possibilities:
1. You hit 50k rules limit
2. App cannot convert one of the ad filters (that's why I need to know which filters do you use).

I use
English, spyware , social, german, mobile, Safari, easylist, easy Germany, easy privacy, fanboy annoyance, fanboy social, Adblock wrl, malware domains, prebake.

14 out of 59.

Open Adguard and go to Filters. Look at the bottom of that screen where it says "Filters enabled". Look under that where it says "Active filter rules". What is the count there?
