To share with you guys,

My issue is when i connect my iPhone 6 to my range rover specially after the latest update iOS 8.0.2 i wouldn't be able to play music since it makes a call to 955 which is a random number and it won't disconnect the call. tried deleting my phone from the system and forgetting the car from the bluetooth settings which did make a difference. I even tried to restart my phone still no good.

my wife's iPhone 6 which is still on iOS 8.0.0 pairs and works fine.

Guess a call to 955 is better than 911. Maybe it's a feature? LOL jk

I figured out my problem with my 2012 Acura TSX. I was trying to connect it with the old pairing for the iPhone 5 and it couldn't find it. I delete the iPhone 5 profile and paired my iPhone 6 Plus. Now, it works perfectly and all of my phone calls have been flawless!

The Bluetooth has been a mixed bag with my 2012 Mazda3. First off, iOS 8 actually fixed a Bluetooth bug that started with the iOS 7.1 update. The turn-by-turn directions would cut off mid-sentence, unless streaming audio was playing at the same time. That now works fine.

But, I have noticed that the transition between streaming audio and phone calling now doesn't always go smoothly. When I take an incoming call or make an outgoing call, the car would drop the audio stream and go back into search mode for Bluetooth device. It only takes a few seconds to recover, but there is a delay between when I answer or place the call, and when the call goes back over to Bluetooth.

And last night, another weird one. I had a song cued up on YouTube, and after the obligatory video ad played, the audio stream dropped and the car went back into search mode. When the car picked up the audio stream for the music video, it reconnected AS A PHONE. The audio sounded horrible. I closed out of YouTube and tried it again, and it played just fine as an audio device the second time.

At least with my setup, the iOS 8 Bluetooth seems trigger happy about dropping audio sync if there's any momentary break in the program (e.g., a long break between songs or videos, transitioning between streaming audio and a call, etc.).

I haven't tried anything like deleting the Bluetooth profile. Maybe I should try it and see if that fixes anything.

Mercedes ML

Just got iphone 6, upgraded to 8.0.2, paired the device and no connectivity. The display in the Mercedes says there is No Signal, even though the phone has 5/5 network strength. Even if I dial directly from the car's keypad, call will still terminate and say it has no service even though it rings. Very buggy. With iOS7 and prior, no problems with this car, seamless operations, but not the bluetooth link is broken.

I also tried deleting, resyncing, etc.

Switched back... no problems

I had not yet returned my 5S so I called verizon and switched the sim cards from my 6+ to my 5S both were running 8.02 and wallah no problems bluetooth works perfectly in my Lexus RX350. So I am not sure it is IOS 8, maybe the combination of 8 and plus 6.

So I will hang onto my 5s until there is a patch and then switch back.

I've actually been posting on a different thread in the iPhone forum... I have a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and have been having issues with 8.0.2.

I have a friend who has the exact same car. I asked if he was having the same issues. Said his was all good.

We just went to my car and tested my phone. No go still. Then we deleted my phone and tried his. WORKED! We have the exact same phone (6) and are both running 8.0.2.

Not sure what is up. Called AppleCare and they said to do a full restore on my phone and see if that helps.

I did a full restore and no go. I ended up getting an iPhone 6 Plus last night. Did a restore from backup, and what do you know... the bluetooth works perfect on it.

I got Iphone 6 , can pair with my 2011 MB GL350, but can't receive or make calls, but was ok with my Ihpone 5(ios 7), called Apple support, a guy told me there is nothing wrong with the device, it's because my car, ask me to contact MB and ask for update on my car audio system. he said MB needs to catch up with Apple, this is ridiculous, right? how can he explain that I can pair with a handfree headset I bought 8 years ago.

Took my car out this morning and my new 6 Plus is now doing the exact same thing as my 6. I have no idea why it would work perfect for a full day and then stop working. So bizarre.

I take back my previous statement about the bluetooth working fine in my M3. The phone pairs properly and Siri works, but actual calls just don't come through the speaker for some reason

(Semi) Official answer from BMW Genius

I received the following email from the BMW Genius at my dealer today. I hadn't contacted them about the problem, so I suspect BMW is getting bombarded with questions/complaints. Bottom line, it's Apple's problem, it affects multiple cars, and (supposedly) it will all be fixed in iOS 8.1. The temporary fixes he refers to are a) deleting and re-pairing the phone and car and b)making sure that your BMW's bluetooth software is up to date. But the real fix is in 8.1.

FWIW....

I was using a 5S with my Infinity without any problems (using iOS 8.0). Upgraded to a 6+ and couldn't use the bluetooth to talk, and hear, during telephone calls. Everything else seemed to work.

After upgrading to 8.0.2, I deleted the bluetooth connection from my phone and the car and then re-paired them. I now have full functionality.

Hopefully 8.0.2 fixes this issue for some of you.

FWIW, this worked for a couple of days. However, it doesn't work anymore. When I get into the car now, it thinks the 6+ is in airplane mode (it's not). It will connect if I force it, but then it tries to call some unidentified number. The call never goes through, but my radio goes out while it's trying. If someone calls me, I have to switch it to the regular phone mode in order to hear people.

Going to connect a BT headset. I finally got a car with BT and now I can't use it.

Sorry, but I chuckled a bit at your post. My phone does the same thing, but I have no idea who/what is being called.

In a glass half full kind of way, at least you know what number it is trying to call. :)

Same issue with my Holden Calais V. The bluetooth connection, and cables setup are simply broken beyond belief. Trying my daughters iPhone 4 on 7.1 and it works perfectly every time.

I'm holding off on actually upgrading to the 6+ 128GB as at the moment the phone is next to useless in the car, so until Apple and my car manufacturer sort this out I'm stuck with the 2 year old iPhone 5

Problem with my 2014 BMW 428i (NBT) here - it was working fine until I plugged it into the car's USB (connected drive) connection. Now it only pairs as a phone - bluetooth audio/streaming doesn't work. It tries and appears momentarily, but then goes away.

I've tried unpairing, removing the devices from each other, restarting the car and phone, toggling services (phone/streaming) and nothing.

Just bizarre.

Changing from a 6 plus to a 6 seems sort out my problems with my 3 series convertible. My new 6 series convertible arrives from the factory in a couple of weeks so it will be interesting to see if Bluetooth and texting works in the new car

The issue just hit me and my 2013 Chevy Volt, iPhone 6 Plus 8.0.2 (AT&T, 16 GB, Gold, if that matters)..

I did a complete reformat (factory reset, no apps, no settings, not restored from iCloud). Then I did a reset on the radio itself in the menus. It doesn't get much more "reset" than that.

I connected to Wifi, went to bluetooth on the car, asked it to "pair", then I found it on my bluetooth menu on the iPhone. I allowed it to pair and that's it. I took extra 10 seconds between all steps to make sure I'm not rushing the system in any way.

Next, I enable the voice system on the volt by pressing the steering wheel button and say "dial <wife's phone>".
The voice in the car says "dialing <wife>" with her number shown on the screen. Then after just a second, I see "dialing failed" while the voice also announces "dialing failed". But the phone itself is still in phone mode and I can hear the ringing coming over the speaker system. When she does answer, she cannot hear me at all. I can't hang up the phone call using the steering wheel button. I have to reach up and transfer the call to it's own speaker in order for her to hear me.

Without a doubt, this is a game breaker for me as I conduct business while on the road. Having to hold the phone up to my ear while driving in busy downtown areas isn't what I bought the Volt for. If this doesn't get fixed soon, I'm getting something to hold me over that actually works (nexus 5 probably).

iPhone 6 with Ford Sync affected as well

AT&T iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2) is having troubles connecting to my 2011 Ford Taurus SHO with Sync Gen1 v3.2.6. Sometimes the Bluetooth Audio connects just fine, other times it will connect but will remain in "Conference Call Private Mode".

My 2014 Dacia Sandero ...

Good news!

----------------

Add my VW GTI Mk6 to the list. Reset everything (or just Settings, it does not matter) and it will work fine during the first drive - make and receive calls, play music over BT, no problem.

On the second and subsequent drives everything works fine, even plays VM over the cars sound, but will not make or receive calls.

So Apple sent my friend this. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6473 He's had other devices on iCloud and will try later. Just thought I'd share it in case it works.

Curiously enough, I'm sure when I upgraded my devices, they were all renamed i.e. from Andy's iPhone to iPhone. Andy's mini to iPad and Andy's iPad to iPad. I wonder if that has any bearing on things as well as some people have noted improvements when renaming their devices. When I look up that list of devices on iCloud, I can see both my iPads just labelled iPad.
