Mine eventually started installing and halfway through it buggered up with a 3200 error, im now stuck on the apple flash screen!! (by the way this was about my 6th time trying!!)

Cheers apple

I've gone through what seems like the whole update/restore process 2 or 3 times now. with the loading bar on the screen and everything, but then right as you THINK it's gonna be finished i still get error 3200...

Just spoke with Apple. Error 3200 is an internal error which they are working on. It was tripped because of how many people using the download. THERES NOTHING USERS CAN DO TO CHANGE THE ERROR CODE. So we will have to just keep trying until its fixed. Was told could be a few hours.

Verification traffic

Guys if the issue is with the traffic trying to verify with apple then its pot luck and whatever work arounds happen to work at the moment that it verifies will only create a whole lot of different false solutions. I have done nothing to alter my set up at all but persisted with multiple attempts to get it installed and where it was failing was at the point of verifying with iTunes. Up to you but I wouldn't go fiddling too much under the bonnet ;)

now restoring iPhone apps ;)

iOS 5 Error 3200

Got halfway through!.. Then crashed and error 3200 came up.. Will keep trying until i get through!

C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates is where you can find your .ipsw

Errors 3000-3999 (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an old version of iTunes is installed, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see error 1004 above), or because of your Internet proxy settings.
..or gs.apple.com server is getting DDOS'ed by all the users trying to update at the same exact time..

It's ironic that the over the air updates this version introduces will eliminate this sort of issue. Just imagine:

"By the way... all the new features we just announced are available for all IOS 5 users right NOW. Take a look for yourselves.."

Hey guys just signed up to let you all know that a 3200 error is an internal server error (Apples Servers are overloaded). There is no work around or "solution" the only thing you can do is keep clicking update. Took me 11 times lol

freakkk's post

Hey - seems to me logical to me, seems to fit with the experience.

You'd think they'd have learned after the first 3 iOS updates that people are going to swamp them... but nope.

I got the error 3 times then the fourth it worked. I did nothing different in-between each try.
Just keep trying guys! It will go through.

Any way to skip the backup process? It takes forever and doesn't need to be done every single time.

Just to say,

I've been getting 3200 error and followed the link: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275

I went through the steps, one of which was to update all system software. I realised I had a security update outstanding, so I'm just trying to install that now and try again. Will report back.
