Several people spewing crappy info is not research, haha.
Finding articles and videos of people talking about a particular subject is research. Whether their information is correct or not is another story.

That's why we have so much fake news. People will blindly trust some rando on the internet.

I think the deliveries will start when the iPhone is announced. After all, they don't want people having devices with the same processor as they will talk about in the iPhone event.....it will steal some thunder.

I think the good news out of this will be for US preorders that they sohould have enough stock on hand to ship directly from the US.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but when is the reveal expected?

I do find it odd that no specific release date has been given for an already announced product when we're already within the timeframe. I also don't know how much sense it would make to open pre-orders for the iPad and a new iPhone so close to each other, since I assume it's rare customers would spend that kind of money on two devices within a few days of each other, even those who can afford it. Those kind of purchases usually benefit from at least a small amount of breathing space in between them.

If preorders don't start within the next couple of days then I suspect that there won't be a preorder phase at all and one day it will simply be "available" and that's it.

Agreed, I called it preorders, but I meant like orders with first deliveries on this friday. Having preorders doesn't make sense at this situation.

This is annoying from Apple. If they intend on releasing the iPad when iPhone pre-orders start, then why didn't they just announce the products at the iPhone event itself instead of making customers wait an entire month. The only reason i can think of for them to delay orders and shipping is because of the A14 chip. If it's that special, then just announce it at the Apple Event for both products.

The Apple Watch S6 was nothing special so they could've just released that via press release. Genuinely believe Apple messed it up with their announcements this year but that's just my opinion. They've ultimately released two products that aren't special in the S6 watch and the 8th gen iPad. Now I'm praying they do pre orders today for the iPad Air as i', dying to get my hands on the Blue one, and for my sake of mind, I just wanna know that i've got one secured, even if it does get shipped for next week.

And if they’re holding it back just to keep the A14 secret, benchmarks for it have already leaked online anyway. And even when they announced the Air 4 they talked about what performance gains to expect over the Air 3, so I don’t get what the secret is supposed to be.

Exactly my point. I don't get what all this secrecy is about and why they insist on delaying it? If there are issues in regards to making the product then that's understandable but i've not heard anything about that, only with the iPhones which is why the Pro models are expected to come out in November.

I can’t imagine it’s a production issue either. They wouldn’t have announced it as being available “next month” if there was any doubt about production. By that point they should have already been well into mass production. I don’t follow every Apple launch, but I can’t think of another time when they’ve been so vague about such an imminent release.

I just have a feeling they'll be like this with the iPhone 12 Pro editions.
