Still nobody from Europe getting prep to ship? 😩

If they ship to Europe in a batch then send out from there, do you get the notification at the start, or when it leaves the European distribution centre?

maybe US is getting shipments from China and Europe will get them from Europe (after shipping in bulk from China)?

UK is normally bulk from China to Hinckley and distributed out from there

How quickly after preparing to ship do products usually ship from apple? If my memory serves correct it was 2 days (which would line up with a 5/21 delivery date.. maybe earlier?)

Seems like they'd ship Friday since it said ships 2-3 weeks on the order page.

In the Last years i watched different methods. There is a location in Czech Republic, were they send there stuff. I also getting some stuff from China, so it’s difficult to say.

In Europe products can be one week in prep phase. AirTags a few weeks ago were directly in prep and shipped Thursday at the next week. iPhone pre order the same. Pre ordering at Friday, direct prep phase and shipped at the next week Thursday.

Europe is also handled via The Netherlands, there's a Syncreon hub in Waalwijk (in the south, near Eindhoven, close the Belgium border). As far as I know most people here got May 28 as ultimate delivery date. Initially it was May 21-28, then it jumped to May 28. However, my Airtags also arrived a week earlier even with engraving, so who knows what might happen.

Think a sign that shipment happens soon, is when Apple sends the cardbox box for your old iPad if you went for the trade-in. The box for my Apple Watch last year was shipped a week in advance.

(same for my Apple TV 4K 2021 btw, also still at May 28, in "processing")

My PayPal account is pending a temporary authorization to make sure your payment method will cover the payment. Your payment method will be charged when Apple Inc completes your order.
I couldn’t pay with paypal it wasn’t in the list of payments, yet Its the default payment in app store. I had to use credit card.

My last orders were all shipped earlier. My mail from Apple also says 21-28.5 and i guess they deliver at the 21.5.
My last orders also always came on the first specified date, from the email.
I hope that the European getting prep for ship at this Friday or earlier 😩🤞🏽

Mine turned to preparing to ship last night around 11 pm est. Charges are pending. 12.9 space gray 128gb
My confirmation is around 11 minutes after they went live.

I wonder how many will be available in the local Apple Stores on May 21? Since mine probably won’t move until close to the end of May (June 4-10 estimated delivery), I’m contemplating taking that route if it’s even possible.

Anyone else order it from Best Buy?
I started a BB thread that no one used, but since the theme of this thread changed no one has explicitly said their BB order, mine included, has been charged to their cc or any change in "release" date.

Here is mine

I wasn’t aware of a BB thread, but having an iPad delivery thread all in one place is no big deal. And @iPad Bro, there’s no updated status on my order. I think we will see progress on our orders next week…. Since Apple has to ship our orders to Best Buy.

Just adding another data point for Canadian buyers, this time with the less popular 11" model.

11" iPad Pro 256GB Space Grey
Confirmation email: 8:11am EST (Apr 30)
Delivery dates from Apple: May 25-28
Shipping to Richmond Hill (north of Toronto)
Amex showed pending charge for a few days after ordering and now shows nothing (normal behaviour). I'm expecting a charge when it moves to 'Preparing for Shipment'.

Interestingly when I was ordering on the 30th, any Toronto postal code I put for delivery gave me May 21 delivery, but postal codes outside the city, like Richmond Hill/Markham in my case, delivery was May 25. I have a feeling it'll get here on the 21st (presumed launch day) as most other Apple products have come on launch to my postal code.

Is it really normal that the CC shows a pending charge a few days after ordering and now nothing?
yesterday I noticed that and was a little bit confused. It’s the first time my CC shows that, so I don’t know.
I'm curious to see when preparation is to be expected in Germany

To me I think if people in the states ordered a 11 inch I think Apple could have stock in hand and is just waiting to ship them out on 20th. Seems like the 12.9 inch iPads are more popular and I think Apple dose not have enough stock of those so that why we are seeing movement with the 12.9

Makes sense because the new display was in short supply we’ve heard, while the 11” is basically an updated version of current iPad. M1 chips have been out for awhile and they may have built 11” in mass while awaiting displays for 12.9”. Now they can concentrate on 12.9”. With airlift in short supply internationally moving them to the states early would also make sense.

Makes me feel better that I’m not seeing any movement on my 11”

I should’ve clarified I meant normal for my Amex.

I find it interesting that you were given a four day window. My window has always been 7 days, and I think that most people here have been given a 7 day window as well.

I’m also a fellow Canadian, and live on the east coast, Halifax, to be exact. Most fellow Canadians that I’ve seen here have in fact been from the Toronto area.

I’m thinking that the reason for the range in delivery dates is something to do with the distance from Toronto, since I suspect that is the entry point into Canada. Those living closest to Toronto would get deliveries closer to the earlier day, and those farther from Toronto would get deliveries closer to the later date.

A normal UPS ground delivery from Toronto to Halifax takes 2-3 days under normal situations, but with Covid, I suspect that delivery times could be longer.
