12.9-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi 1TB ordered a couple minutes after launch
From day one it's been "Arrives May 21 - May 28"
Was charged yesterday but there were payment issues so payment failed. Called this morning to resolve and the charge went through and the apple associate said there would be no delay due to the payment snafu.
Currently still in "processing" and still "Arrives May 21 - May 28"
Yes. its very common. the CC company will hold a pending charge for around five days, and it will come off if no actual charge is made by then.Is it really normal that the CC shows a pending charge a few days after ordering and now nothing?
yesterday I noticed that and was a little bit confused. It’s the first time my CC shows that, so I don’t know.
I'm curious to see when preparation is to be expected in Germany
Based on my previous buying experiences, preorders may be handled differently than other products. It looks like the earliest 'Arrives Date' is May 21. If that does not move up, you can expect movement from Preparing to Ship to Shipped next week. I recall another of my orders sat in Preparing To Ship for nearly one week. Other 'already released' products were in and out of Preparing To Ship in a matter of hours. Bottom line: Watch your Arrives Date. If the date holds, shipping usually occurs about 2 or 3 days ahead of that. I will check my order early next week to see if it starts moving. The Apple deity does this to us to teach the value of Patience. I am still learning....How long does it take to go from preparing to ship to shipped?
I think Best Buy dose that so people don't back out of there ordersThat is surprising that they would actually place the full charge immediately, when you have to wait several weeks, since I would have thought that they have a policy similar to most companies like Apple or Amazon, where those charges only take place just prior to the item being shipped.
I don’t any experience with Best Buy myself with respect to preorders, since any orders that I’ve placed with them in the past have been for in stock items, and they were shipped within a day of ordering.
The only explanation that I can think of for your early charge was so that Best Buy would have the funds on hand to ensure stock from Apple in order to fill your order.
That happened to me with my AirPods Max, and really no issue, just chatted with Apple since I used my Apple Card they took care of it easy. This happened to me as well. Forgot to ask about a delay so this is good news.
That's generally the case that tracking can start from Knoxville. I've had iPhones or MBP start tracking from China as well. If they have had sufficient amount of time to stockade some decent inventory, I think they stage and break into individual shipment by UPS as their major hub in TN. If there's more a rush or more of a BTO order (like unusual custom MBP orders), they ship to destination straight from China. These are conclusions based on my observations from years of stalking order status for Apple product launches. The last few times I have ordered from Apple the shipment has shown up on the Apple site or UPS/Fedex until it has landed in a major hub in the US like Kentucky. Don't know anything about Canada or Europe.
I've had the same thing with my 12.9 1TB. I don't believe it will show up listed anywhere until it actually moves to "shipped".12.9-inch with 256 storage, no engraving, has always showed May 21-28 delivery and just moved to Preparing to Ship. Not showing up in my UPS roster however.
Has anyone found their tracking numbers yet? Typically you can find them on UPS before Apple provides them.
If you have UPS My Choice, you are notified when a package is created and shipped to you. You can also use the phone number or order number associated with the order to search UPS via Reference Number. How do you do that? Is that through UPS my choice?
Weird. Mine fixed itself 20 minutes later. My Apple balance is $0 but my card shows a charge for $2000+ so we will see what happens ?Ya same. Had to call in to get it fixed.

i think @iPad Bro and @xenoako was curious about their orders. Im fully aware when stock arrives thats when BB will give us updates on our orders.I too ordered my iPad Pro 12.9 from Best Buy but I don't expect to see movement on it until mid next week (Wed) at latest.
I seem to recall someone saying in this thread that Apple is very strict about people not receiving their orders (those bought directly from Apple) before the official release date on May 21st in this case. I don’t know how Apple can control the exact date of delivery, but it’s probably a case of timing the shipping, depending on region, and possibly even instructing UPS to deliver on a certain date. Please correct me if I am mistaken about this.
Hopefully, if things go smoothly with the earliest deliveries, they will be able to move up the later deliveries to earlier dates. Keeping my fingers crossed.
One thing that has surprised me is how many people are having issues with the credit card payments, and having to call Apple to remedy things. Is something not quite with Apple, so that so many people have had to call them to iron things out?
I don't believe Apple ever even confirmed a specific day for release.I guess a possible saving grace is the vague ‘late May’ release date.
