Tbh, I don‘t see the angst of getting it on 21st. It would be super cool to have it 2 days early to see all the envy in everyone eyes lol. But all I'm concern with is if I get it by June 6th... before WWDC. Obviously, I'm excited to take a look at that XDR Display on the iPad. And take a look at the camera features... but I’m taking a chill pill.

From my past experience of buying AC+ for nearly all my Apple products, AC+ starts at the date when Apple ships the device to you, not the date you actually receive or activate it, and it can’t be changed.

That’s why I don’t buy it right up with the device anymore. I will enroll online once I receive my iPad Pro and make sure that there is nothing wrong with that unit.

That‘s what I plan to do as well with mine, and I hope that the AppleCare+ end date will correspond to the date that I purchase the AppleCare+ as well. This is actually the first device for which I will be purchasing the extended coverage, mainly because of the new screen technology, and the high repair costs should something go wrong.

Don't the two years of AC+ start with the date of purchase of AC+ and not the device? I'm pretty sure it does and so it would make sense to wait for the last day possible to buy it.

Even the limited warranty starts when you purchase the a product I think Apple should have a shipping Limited Warranty so just incase when you get it and open it and dose not work then you could say it was damaged in shipping, then if its fine then that shipping warranty would turn into a Limited Warranty

I got my confirmation email 4 minutes after pre orders opened, status is still processing and no charge done yet.
Apple says my ipad will be delivered May 28.
Anyone in Europe who has seen their status change from processing, or is it only US orders that have been shipped and will be delivered May 21?
I started a EU iPad Pro tracking thread. Maybe all of us EU orders can post our statuses there? So we can see when EU peeps start seeing movement in their orders.

Does it matter?

Where I am UPS hasn’t collected a signage in years. No matter what the shipper requests.

I always use a credit card in case a porch pirate strikes as my insurance against theft.
I think it depends on the location like if it’s a “dangerous” neighborhood or not etc .. it also depends on the delivery person.

With my iPhone 12Pro last year, the UPS wasn’t showing signature required and I wasn’t home at the time that they tried to delivery. When I saw the doorbell ringing on the app I talked to the guy through my door camera and he said it was necessary the signature. I tried to convince him to just hide the package since the package was for me but he said he couldn’t do it because it was an IPhone etc.

He told me that they would try to delivery again on the next day so I stayed home the whole day waiting for the iPhone and guess what? On the next day was another guy doing the delivery and he just rang the doorbell and left the package on my porch. No signature needed. ?

When I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max they just left it not signature- I kind of hate to say this I have a samsung S20, and when Fedex delivered that one they wanted to make sure the person was home and asked what the name was and the driver signed the release- When I got my July 2019 13 inch Macbook Pro I had it shipped to UPS Store since I had a box there so when I got it I had to sign for it- I did it that way I think my family was doing something and thought we would not be home so I told my dad I had the box so I sent it there. I don't have the box at the UPS Store anymore

Just seems like strange like couple years back I would either get my Apple orders delivered by Fedex and UPS and its mostly been UPS this year

So true! Forgot most credit cards have theft protection for the first 90 days after purchase. Great point ??

UPS never asked for signatures when I received my Magic Keyboard or Pencil. Prefer it that way anyway, don’t need to be touching no stylus pens haha

when does Best Buy update orders?
I have the same question but I'm guessing we probably won't see any updates by them until they actually start shipping. One thing to look for is whether you still have the option to cancel the order or not. They might not let you cancel the order once it ships.

Edit: AC+ starts at the date of purchase, not the date you actually receive or activate the device, and it can’t be changed. So if you buy it together with iPad Pro, the 2-year count down starts before shipping.

Your AppleCare+ expiration date is 2 years from the DOP of the protection plan lately, so long as it’s added within the first 60 days. I just got a new Mac Mini, took delivery sometime in February. At the end of March I added AppleCare and my expire date changed from Feb 2022 to Mar 2024. My iPhone Xs Max I received on launch day, bought AppleCare a month later, same thing happened. Expire changed from Sep 2019 to Oct 2020.

12.9" Cellular - 256GB started prepping for shipping on the 12th
Today (their timezone) it arrived in ZhengZhou with the default estimated date of May 21st.

In my experience a bunch of days are typically shaved off along the way. But we'll have wait and see until it arrives in Anchorage and/or when it gets formally imported in KY, if that happens this time around.

In other news, the custom config iMac is now prepping to ship, so it seems like they're picking up steam.

I don’t think UPS uses its own fleet in China. They have no flights listed departing from ZhengZhou. I suspect they contract Cargolux, which has two 747 cargo planes departing to Anchorage at 11:20 AM CST today.

So, my guess is the shipments that arrived in ZhengZhou at 8 AM will be on that flight.

... or not :).

The world of Apple logistics is rarely predictable. We'll get the iPads when we get it. But I'm still thinking there's a good chance it will be before 5/21.
