Nope, mine got in just in time.

However, I am effected by crappy ParcelForce. Says it was out for delivery at 02:00 this morning in my local town. Now 16:53 and STILL no sight of it.

AND, like a sad hermit I sat in all day while it's been glorious weather.

FAIL!!!

oooh, someone else from Bournemouth :D

Well.. I reckon airports will be open on Monday, if this drags on much longer it's going to cause unprecedented chaos.

It's going to take quite a few days to clear the backlog of packages. It may be quicker getting one sent on a container ship!

how do uk customs know how much to charge on ipads if they don't know the birtish item value. are they working off the american value or guessing? or do they know?

Go to local depot and get it, parcel farce are crap:D

Believe me, I would if I knew where they were hiding it. Probably a little late for that too today.

Look at this! I bet they're all groping it at ParcelAr$e. Admittedly, it does say it's on an 'Express 48' service, but that's no excuse. I live in B'mth!

Well that's better than mine. My parcel has been MIA from the tracker for about 2 and a half days. I don't know where it is, whether it landed in the UK, or what's happening.

Damn you people in the UK with delivery on Saturdays.

Here it is as if the post office & couriers are unaware that Sat & Sun exist.

Can't wait for Monday when mine arrives at last. :)

Anyone still left waiting for the UK release ? Elise, JonnyIreland - tell me you are still keeping Teh Faith ?

I feel for you guys who caved and ordered their ipads, for them only to get grounded in a warehouse somewhere due to pumice stones in the air. Bummer.

Ah good point.. well, my friend in Texas couldn't find any in all 3 Apple Stores so he's ordering it online, which will take probably 5-7 days to arrive, so by then hopefully that'll all be moot!

Even if I don't have my hands on my iPad for 2 weeks, it'll still be a whole month earlier than the UK, and with a bit of luck, at a lower price!

I'd say go for importing if you can guys, Apple should feel some kind of consequence for it's delay, so that maybe in the future we won't be quite so far down on their list of priorities.

I think we're in a dwindling minority.

Unfortunatley a lot of the people who did cave are being forced to wait for other means. Freighters have now become totally unuseable all orders getting cancelled.

Ebay is the only method and I personally refuse that.. I am waiting for Bundleboxs announcement on 21st April., see if they can get some and for what price.

It will be more then 2 weeks, when i orderd on the 14th with 5-7 business days till shipping it estimated a 28th April delivery date, then add on the UK delivery time it will be closer to 3 weeks. Probably be a lot faster to wait for a delivery at a local store.

UK delivery time is quoted as 2-3 days on the option I'm going with, and customs shouldn't be too much of an issue - it'll be labelled as a gift and actually wrapped up in wrapping paper.

Plus, new stock is expected in the UK on Sunday, iirc.

Yeah I'm still waiting - just about! :D

I am waiting for the rest of world release.

Just hoping that the UK price works out to be reasonable rather than 'Unbelievable'.

I just cannot make up my mind on what one to order. To 3g or not to 3g, that is the question. I mainly see myself using this in wifi only places but do not like the idea of being caught short when I want the internet.

I'm keeping the faith, although it was looking shaky after the delay announcement!
I'm really waiting to hear those UK prices... That will be the deciding factor, although I'm pretty sure that I will go with a UK model now.

I can imagine Apple are raging this volcano didn't go off a week earlier and they could have blamed it for the late May European launch...

My decision to get just the Wifi model was that I'll be using it in 3 main places - Home (wifi), office (wifi) and the Tube (no signals) plus on planes when I travel. If I ever need extra connectivity I'll tether using MyWi on my iPhone. Plus I don't fancy an extra data cost each month.

Just my two cents!

me.............................. unless i get a house first then itll have to be a birthday pressie

I'm looking for the 3G model purely for the GPS. I probably wont bother with a sim chip at all as I have a Three MIFI. I intend waiting for the UK launch now as I have got used to waiting and letdowns now. I nearly caved in at the announcement. I had a 64GB one lined up on eBay, here in the UK. But the bloke has messed me around so much he can shove it. I suspect it was a scam anyway.

I think we're in a dwindling minority.

Here's the thing though. The US price, direct from Apple, via a freight company (bundlebox etc) isn't going to go up. The UK price is unknown. So if the UK price comes out at a load more, then you can make the choice to buy from US and not UK. However, it's a win win situation as the UK version might come in nearly as cheap as the US price+postage+VAT but you get to support UK economy and get it in person etc.
