This is getting 'really' silly now...i mean, surely it HAS to be today the preorders go up? Otherwise there expecting people to be told a price, preorder it..and then have that money ready within a week?
When i preorder my consoles etc...i preorder them at least 3 months in advance! If they only update their sites on tuesdays, we have one left before the supposadely launch week of it...Apple are acting VERY strange with this, i'm gearing myself up for the worse!
Anyway, if i import one..what exactly will i have trouble with? What happens if i can't use my UK itunes account on it?

lots of people have all ready done it True. But think, hopefully by the time 4.0 comes out for iPad (in 'Fall', maybe we'll have the hardware by then also?
) we will have iBooks. So you can make a folder 'Books' and put iBooks, Kindle, Stanza and stuff like Alice all in there.It's a touch annoying for me because both at 1pm and 5pm I will be in a flippin' rehearsal, unable to sneak a look. Argh.
I'm just going to escape to the loo around those times with my iphone and be done with it, they'll just have to wait for me to come back.

Special press events are usually around that time but if it's just a store update, they seem to take place anytime from 12 til 2 approximately in the UK.

Is that directly on the iPad, or just syncing from a computer?
Youll be about to sign in with your UK iTunes account on the iPad just like if you have an iPhone or iTouch

If so, and if the MBPs are available on the store today, maybe they'll update them both at the same time (they won't want the store down twice in one day considering how long its often down for).

Youll be about to sign in with your UK iTunes account on the iPad just like if you have an iPhone or iTouch
you can swap accounts very easily, its simple enough to do when you are in the itunes app
Isn't that still better for him than returning it and paying a restocking fee? So he's helping out a fellow forum member and he's rented it for a week.

So when they say they are expecting a store update between x and y hours, is it generally anytime between x and y that the store goes down, or that the store goes down at x o' clock and comes back up at y ? Cos it's 11.01am by my pooter and the UK Apple store is still there.

Have they ever updated it on any other day other then tuesday? If not, surely next week is the last tuesday this can go up for preorder? Otherwise i very much doubt the ipad will make April.
