Congratulations to everyone whose posted here, we've gone past 2000 posts and have discussed anything between sperm, HD television and customs regulations but have as yet failed in our endeavor to gain hold of a iPad UK price and release date! I guess we will all look back with nostalgia at this thread once Apple pulls its act together and kills the suspense. Till then, tally ho!

Damn....(shuffles back in the queue)

epic win!

I doubt that there will be massive queues in the UK, think about how many people are techno savvy

then think about how many of them hate apple

then think about how many of them want the iPad

then how many will take the day of work

You get a pretty small number

then think about how many are frustrated with the no information period.

One wonders how Apple are going to balance price parity between the contract free iPhone and the iPad? will a 3G iPad command a higher price than a similar capacity iPhone, the 32 which is what ... £550?

It'll be a tricky one for them to price correctly, especially since it shares the same "functionality" of the iPod touch, but taking the US precedent to hand ...

US 32 gig touch $299
UK 32 gig touch £235
US 32 gig iPad (wifi) $599
soo ...
UK 32 gig iPad (wifi) 235 / 299 x 599 = £470?

I know this is crap maths based on international rates and there are a billion other factors to take into account, but a sub £400 price for the 16 gig seems unlikely based on that voodoo I just performed.

so 32 gig all models..?

iPod touch £235
iPad (wifi) £470 *
iPhone £550

* (my guestimate, don't you skim readers lambast me for pretending to have "inside knowledge"!)

I caved. Sorry guys.. I just bought a 64gb from the Marketplace for $675 plus $35 shipping. Ended up costing me about £460. Might get stung for another £80 at Customs, but still a good price even if it does come out at £540. :)

So Tuesday's finally here and everyone's waiting for the Apple Store to go down.
How high are the chances that we're actually gonna see some news today? :)

Btw. Germany here, but there doesn't seem to be any general European thread, so hopefully I'm still welcome. :D

Welcome from Germany!! Yes I am hoping today aswell, hopefully the store will go down and who knows maybe iPad news will arrive and MBP updates!

I feel like I never leave here now, lol.

Today could be the day. How disappointing will it be if the Store goes down and they only have MacBook updates and no iPad UK info? We'll be so upset!

True, but the iPad is being reviewed on The Gadget Show on Monday 19th April, and (I expect) that attracts a couple of million viewers. Plus of course the press coverage once date/prices are announced. Apologies if this has already been posted, I can't keep up with all the posts in this thread :D

Fingers crossed it arrives sooner than later, the "iPad in the UK" ebay search bookmark on my Mac keeps calling me :(

I was close to purchasing this, But would prefer to pick mine up brand spanking new from an Apple store and get in with the athmosphere if there is one :D I would also dread the thought of Customs holding it up!

Same here...i enjoy the experience of going into the actual store, getting increasingly giddy as i get to the front of the queue and walking out holding on to one as if my life depended on it!

My partner thinks im mental :p

(how very british of me, enjoying a queue :p)

Hmmm..can anyone else help with a US iTunes problem? I bought a $50 US iTunes voucher off ebay and set myself an account up. I bought the iWorks suite for the iPad and now my balance is $17.86. It should be $20.03

What has gone wrong?

It's all good fun! I've only ever done it for the iPhone before. :)

Local tax on the address you registered your iTunes account against??

Nothing's wrong. I think you've forgotten about Sales Tax. It looks like you've been charged around 7.25%

Remember the US doesn't quote prices inclusive of tax, they add it when you purchase. At least it's not 17.5% like we have to pay!

Ryan are you sure it's legit?

$675 means the seller would be selling for $24 loss as Apples price is $699.

I hope you haven't been scammed but that price seems 'too good to be true'..

The account address you set up with means Apple applies state tax to that address.
