I take it all those rumors about Apple Store employees getting shipments of iPads in and learning the ropes was just bs?
I got mine from one of the first UK-based sellers last week. He was a bit cunning, I think, as there was a slight delay in dispatch (probably waiting for his stock to get to him), but it's here now and that's all that counts. £540 for a 32GB wifi iPad is roughly what they'll be over here anyway, I think.
All I can say about the device is: calling it 'just a big iPod Touch' is a profound disservice. It's big and cool in every sense (mine was freezing when I took it out of the box!).
When the delivery man was waling down the path, the parcel didn't look bigger than book-sized. The iPad is the same size as its box. Maybe this is the size-related thing people have been going on about for 10 days now.
Right now my only slight grumble is that the apostrophe isn't on the main keyboard.
God waiting for this and a Reading Festival Update, An exciting lunchtime. Lets hope they arent both let downs!!

Fraid so, I don't work 7 days a week, but I can promise you, if there was any sign of iPads appearing in UK stores, at least one apple store employee would be all over this forum telling people about.

I'm more excited about MBP updates now. I reckon a nice new 13" MBP is in order this afternoon. That'll be a good way to spend £2000 on my Apple addiction in 24 hours.
