Is what il be saying in abouts an hours time....

Sorry :p now im gonna get rage attacked

I know it's the Macbooks updates...but i extremely small glimmer of hope (the size of a 5 pence piece is telling me ipads!). :(

Serious Question

What on earth takes this long???
Updating webpages should take a matter of seconds/mins surely.

They have to have the pages all ready on their servers ready to publish right??

I dont get it.

They're probably wondering why they're being DDOS'd by all of us refreshing it constantly. ;)

Wondering? They'd be worried if we weren't!
I have a day off today, so sitting here watching Doctor Who and refreshing google reader for news of the iPad, and wondering if I should trade in my MBP for a core i7 one...

it's got to be showmanship, there's no way, like you say, that they are busy rewriting it all, checking it maybe, but all they have to do is overwrite the old sections with the new ones.

its part of the suspense

also I think that maybe they ensure that all the pages are working as if they had to shut the pages down again there would be murder!

Because the technicians like to go on forums like this and watch us all get worked up then they hit "the button" to show us nothing actually has changed.

Then they make bets on what comments we will make.

The worse swear word beginning with 'c' comes to mind!

The thread is nearly 100 pages long! UK customers want the ipad and we WANT IT NOW!!!! Freedom!

Apple love creating a buzz, don't they?

It's like when a Space Shuttle is returning to Earth and there's 20 minutes of radio silence as the ship passes through the upper atmosphere...

It doesn't really take them long. Apple does this as it generates interest and people starting talking about it on social networking sites. Even tech news websites start commenting on it. That way they can maximise the buzz about it and then open the store.

Anyone tried doing what it says on the "store down" page and ringing telesales then saying "I'd like to order an iPad please"?
