Yea I've decided I'm gonna return this hunk of junk. Gives the M1 Mac mini (screen tearing, constant restarts, messed up bluetooth & wifi) competition for worst Apple product I've ever bought.
In all seriousness I think Apple just knows they can basically get away with anything like this now.
Sure there will be a whole bunch of us that won’t buy this because of this… But they’ll also be a huge percentage of people that either don’t notice it or don’t care or just think that’s the way it supposed to be with a weird scroll animation or something.
That’s what I find most depressing
What are they "getting away with?"

You know all the inns and outs of this by now.
Stop trying to pick a fight please.
I’m not gonna sit here and argue with you over and over
Both sides of the discussion are egging each other on.

Do you think Apple did this on purpose? Do you doubt the tech explanation that its normal for this particular screen? I'm not sure what Apple is getting away with.
At this point what isn’t helping is that a lot of people are not reading most of the already posted threads and posts. The whole issue has basically been ironed out totally
The discussion has become devoid of useful information and devolved into bickering. I'm going to quit following it and when my M6 shows up tomorrow, I will use it as I normally would and see if there are significant problems that bother me.
I've never noticed jelly scroll on ANY iPhone or iPad I've ever owned from 2008 and on... But the Mini 6 I noticed it RIGHT AWAY so it's definitely much worse than on any other iPad/iPhone.Every iPad has this problem, as do the iPhones. As do pretty much every screen, as far as I know, usually noticeable in landscape. The problem is that it refreshes vertically, so it's much more noticeable because of the narrow display in portrait mode.
It’s always the same. People running all sorts of weird tests to try and find flaws, when actually in day to day use, it’s fine.I'm just tired of the hyper over reaction that clutters these forums with every new release of a product.

I get the impression so many people impulse buy their products now and then seek some sort of flaw because they know deep down they don’t actually need the device, and rather than admit that, they can blame the issue when they return it.
So while I don't think Apple can do a software solution for this, there might still be an opening for Apple to change orientation in the future based on popular preference
Scrolling a website in portrait mode hardly counts as a "weird test" for a tablet 😂
I’ve got to a scroll pretty fast to notice it. I’m not going to be reading anything while scrolling that fast. I use it in portrait most of the time.Scrolling a website in portrait mode hardly counts as a "weird test" for a tablet 😂
If there was ever a product to overreact to it would be the ”best iPad mini yet” with a display that doesn't work properly and comes in at $650 for an iPad with storage. 64 gb doesn’t count in 2021.I'm just tired of the hyper over reaction that clutters these forums with every new release of a product.
I haven't decided whether to try upgrading from my mini iPad 5 yet. I use it mostly in landscape mode (because it's easier to read PDF's), so perhaps this won't be a problem for me if I do get the mini 6.
