In actual use, the effect appears as though each line of text were ever so slightly elastic or bendable. The easiest way to see it is to scroll two or so centimeters down and then back up, repeatedly.

The display is sharp, however. No blurriness or fuzziness, so I don’t know what people are referring to with those words.

The Air 4 jelly-scrolls to the same amount as the Mini 6, as the Mini 5, as the Air 3, as the 2015 Pro, as every other iPad display running 60Hz. The same 60 cycles per second emanating from one side line-by-line. They all jelly-scroll in exactly the same way because they use exactly the same screen technology.
I'm sorry but disagree. My iPad 6 side by side with my iPad Air 4 and the iPad mini 6 made me sea sick. No jelly scroll on the iPad Air 4.

Well I must have lucked out. As a self proclaimed videophile with a rather discerning eye, I don’t see any jelly scrolling on my 64GB WiFi Mini 6. The screen is certainly not on par with the quality of my 120 Hz iPad Pros, but there is no prominent jelly scrolling effect whatsoever
Probably you just don't see it. I doubt your iPad Mini 6 has "special" different screen than the rest. :D Enjoy it since you are fine with it.

No jelly scroll on the iPad Air 4.
You are mistaken because jelly-scrolling is present on the Air 4 in landscape because it refreshes line-by-line at 60Hz in this orientation, with jelly-scrolling as a consequence of its display technology. It’s not a matter of ‘opinion’ and subjectivity. The phenomenon has been observed and recorded.

Tested on mini in store and i must say - thanks god i dont see it. For the very first time my sight aint sensitibe to sthing, i cant stand pwm, i cant stand plasna flicker, i cant stand 60Hz tv screens but finally something i can live with, jelly scrolling:) gonna celebrate this with ordering mini 6👍

Im being completely honest. I've just checked. If there is Jelly scroll then its is so little it does not jump out at me. I use USPS tracking with the delivery bar showing delivered on the screen as its a solid horizontal bar. My iPad Air 4 does not exhibit anything (In landscape or portrait), to any degree, that the iPad mini 6 did. There is just NO question about it. I wish I had taken pictures before I returned it. I thing the guy at the Apple store was about to drop a "Holy ****" when I showed him. As I posted earlier the real tipping point was the fact that the screen on the iPad mini 6 was no where near as bright as the iPad Air 4. Like not even close. I'm not being facesious, just being honest. I don't doubt the phenomenon just the degree to which it stands out and hits you in the face.

Far as I know the iPad Air 4 updates so it would be visible in landscape mode, that means it will be less noticeable for multiple reasons (faster scanout, shorter distance to to track, less things to track and so on). So it is possible that you just cannot see it on the Air 4 but can on the Mini 6.

I love how some people are trying to contradict this post, but they have no facts to set against it.

This is both factually true and untrue at the same time. Yes, it has the same AMOUNT of jelly scrolling, but Apple changed where the display controllers are on the Mini 6. Their new position causes jelly scrolling in portrait more, while the former position in old Minis causes it in landscape. That's the problem - most people use the mini in portrait, and therefore this is a design flaw.

You want proof? Here - this video shows the display controllers are in a different side on the Mini 6 vs the Mini 5, causing the jelly scrolling in portrait instead of landscape.

Also, I think if a fixed amount of skew is stretched out along a wider region it will be less noticeable. Slope is rise over run, so that keeping the rise fixed and increasing the run decreases the slope and hence the effect. The iPad mini in portrait mode is the thinnest among all the iPads. If it had been set up like the mini 5 so that the jelly occurred in landscape mode it would have been less noticeable, even if people used it just as much in landscape mode. At least that's how it seems to me.

If you scroll this forum up or down, even at a "normal" speed, you will see the purple/pink line above each post slope upwards or downwards left-to-right, depending on the direction of scroll. It is what it is.

My Air 4 doesn't show it to my eyes either, but that doesn't mean it's not technically there. Here's a video of mine in slo-mo:

Looks like you are scrolling in portrait orientation? Then it would be impossible to see it since the display controller is mounted the other way on the Air 4 so it will only exhibit it in landscape.

Ok, my mistake. I'll try again in a bit.

Ok, here it is in landscape. Honestly looks the same to me, especially when I watch full screen, though some "jiggling" does look more noticeable if I watch it in a smaller window.

I stopped by the Apple store and it looks like the Jelly Scrolling is spreading to other products! 😊

Just went from a Mini 5 to a Mini 6 and simply don't have any noticeable or objectionable screen deficiencies. The 6 is better than my 5 was, I did compare them side by side before trading in the 5. This whole "jelly scroll" panic is pretty amusing to me. I'm sure there is something there as it is the nature of the technology in use. But every single time a new Apple product is released there is this incredible rush to find every minor flaw and declare it a disaster. Go back and review the posts when the M1 laptops were released and look up the "disk write problem".

I mostly read this stuff for entertainment value, a study in how anecdotal reports can become scandals propped up on very little hard information. In this case a display does what all other similar technology displays do. What an outrage!
